Hey. I have a comic that is worth $9,370,000 in mint condition. It is not in mint condition, but it is in very good condition. I don't expect to get that much at all... But I was thinking maybe 5-10% or more? Is this even hopeful. The comic is a GHOST comic, #1 from 1951, published by Fiction House Inc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

PS: I was told to try Ebay.. but I don't know.. should i do that?

fOxOnThErUn613 claims:

I have VERY serious doubts about that. Where did that info come from?

The just-published 35th edition of the OVERSTREET GUIDE lists Fiction House's GHOST No. 1 in near-mint condition as being "worth" $925...$71 in good condition.

Aloha,

Thanks. That sounds more like it.. Why is Nostomania listing comics at such high prices? It's updated.. Or so it says.. And people sell and buy on there.. Any suggestions?

I don't know the first thing about Nostomania, and it seem sas though you have to register there to see the price guide.

Here are some example of past sales of Ghost Comics #1 from Heritage Comics (you have to register to see past auction, but I am registered):

Ghost Comics #1 - GCG 7.5 VF- (Bethlehem Pedigree) - March, 2002 : $494.50

Ghost Comics #1 - GCG 7.0 F/VF (Bethlehem Pedigree) - January, 2003 : $718.75

I don't know how the same book (from the same Pedigree, unless there was a mistake or two from same Pedigree) showed up 9 months later in a lower grade and sold for $200 more than the previous auction.

Ghost Comics #1 - GCG 6.5 FN+ April, 2003 : $161.00

So, there are 3 example of professinally graded books (which would add at least $30 to your costs), selling at a reputable auction house. The Pedigree books may sell for a premium as well.

My guess (and it's a total guess), is that an unslabbed VG (4.0) might get you $80-$120 on eBay, depending on the quality of your scans etc...

That's just a guess, but I do buy a lot of lower to mid grade pre-Code horror book on eBay, so I have a decent feel for the closing prices.
