be nice seeing him play off people like the Question

and Elongated man on a big case. Maybe Martin Manhunter a little more.

That sounds like a good idea. Solo or with a partner, I'd love to see more detecting.

except that bats is already supposed to be the best detective around, so there wouldn't be much point

but yes, the question would be a great character to team with bats

I agree...but i would understand putting with more detectives for a case where he needs more manpower than one person can handle....

But isn't that what the JLA is for...although that brudge has been burnt down

What, somehow the best detective isn't going to sometimes miss something that the second best detective in the world finds? Or the best detective can't be in one place while the second best detective is in another both investigating the same crime from different errors? It's not like we're dealing with two machines starting the same task at the same time, where the fastest one will win so there's no reason to use the second. We're dealing with humans, the fact that he's the best shouldn't preculde him from having or even needing help at times. I mean, hell, he's one of the world's best martial artists but he still has partners and fellow martial artists to call on when a situation gets dicy, and he often does.

i wouldn't say that's what the JLA is for as much as that's what Robin is for.

don't forget, Tim impressed Bruce exactly because he showed great detective skills to find out who Batman is. i don't think the question or anyone else managed to do that

so yes, forsaken one, it IS plausible that bats needs new opinions/fresh insights on cases, to me, that's Robin's or even Nightwing's role, not a guest star's role.

personally, i feel there are 2 things that can happen IF bats starts hanging around detectives too much. (or if detectives start hanging around bats)

1) they become, essentially, another sidekick. much like how some CSI episodes go, where Grissom solves the murder basically by himself, with the rest doing the grunt work

2) let's say someone like the question DOES pick up something that Batman misses out, and that leads to solving the crime. first, i find that highly unlikely. second, it kinda makes batman look incompetent.

again, i don't think there's anything wrong with the question or even another detective like ralph dibny hanging out with Batman, just not as a detective that batman might call for help. i can see bats calling deadman for some spirit case or zatanna for a magic case, but in the DCU, if anyone is called in when detective work needs to be done, it's bats.

sorry didn't quite get this point. did you mean with different errors or from different angles?

Yeah, that was a typo because I type faster than I think. I meant different angles.

You know what'd be an awesome story? All the big name detectives in the DCU get gathered together to solve a case that's considered unsolvable. And along the way the detectives start to get taken out, until only one is left and solves the case. And it wouldn't be Batman, whoever was behind it, would make sure to take him out first.

There'd be the Question, MM, Elongated Man, Batman, Robin, and so forth. Maybe a few regular human detectives too.

You'd think Batman would have all these detectives on call at any time. I figure even though he's the world's greatest detective, he'd have some other sources on hand.

What I want to see, is a Batman title that's outside of the DCU. Where he can be human, but still be hugely intimidating. Where he can actually use some detecting, and uses it a lot.

I just don't think Batman works realisticly in the DCU, becuase he has to be better than superhumans. But if he just fights gangsters and thugs, he doesn't have to be invincible to be a disturbing and intimidating presence.

Anyway... just my two cents.

dont think one of them solving a riddle or two would make batman look bad because they all would get a change to shine..and one person may be smart at a certain thing

Like Question the conspircy guy

Elongated man is good with chemical

MM- read ancient scifi stuff

Constantine- The occult

batman- good all around. Good at criminals mind, forencis, and notcing thing

Hopefully that's going to be what the movie is like; certainly it was what The Animated Series was like for me (during the good times).
