Comics Continuum is reporting that, "Jim Lee was interviewed recently at WildStorm's offices in La Jolla, Calif., for a segment to be included in the 'WildC.A.T.S. The Complete Series' DVD set. The collection, from FUNimation, will include the entire one-season run of the animated series, which originally aired on CBS 10 years ago. It is targeted for release this summer." They also have some wonderfully nostalgic screen captures.
A WildC.A.T.S. TV series???

You don't remember it? It was done by an animation company in Canada -- Nelvana, I think they were called. Jim Lee helped with character designs. Not a terribly exciting cartoon. I think part of its demise came as a result of the networks moving to Saturday morning news crap. I know that's what ended the Weird Al show at about the same time.
Hopefully, the SAVAGE DRAGON DVD will show up next. ;-)

The theme song was the best.
"They're heroes, not zeroes."

Oh, great, thanks for reminding me.
Wasn't there a little rapping going on in that theme? I'm blanking at the moment. . .

That part was the rapping. Plus they had some woman yelling "WILDCATS" during the song.
You can listen to it right here at CBR

Hey, I still have my VHS copy (store-bought, not recorded off TV) of the first three or so episodes. I think Joe Phillips did the box art, or something.
It wasn't a horrible show, though. A similar look and tone of the Fox X-MEN cartoon (which I guess you could say the same of the early issues of the comic). I have the first issue of the comic adaptation, I think. Plus the Grifter action figure they released ('cause he was the best part about the show anyway). I actually liked the theme song... right up until the rapping. :/
I never got to catch the SAVAGE DRAGON cartoon that often, though but a saw it a few times.
I'd love it if they'd put THE MAXX on DVD, though.

I did buy the Grifter figure! I remember they were released when I was still working at Toys R Us (insert Full-Body Shudder of Shame).
I never warmed to the X-Men cartoon, so a similar-styled cartoon, based on a comic I had stopped reading three months prior? Well, I made an all-knowing snap judgement based on no collected data and stand by it ten years later.

Hmm.... if they did a DVD set of WildC.A.T.S, maybe there's hope for a Phantom 2040 set!!

Yeah, I think they even had action figures.
I'd love it if they'd put THE MAXX on DVD, though.
I have this on VHS and would LOVE a DVD! :)

Ugh, I remember this cartoon. There was a time when it was one of the only superhero cartoons on TV and they kept showing the same epiosodes over and over and over again because they were almost (but not quite) CanCon. Really didn't encourage me to rush out and try the comic.
