I'm not a PC gamer myself, but I can ecommend the basic good games.

Half-Life 2, and Unreal Tournement (what ever is the latest version, 2004 I think), are always good bets. There are also many War based FPS's that may be of interest to you.

Enemy Territory.
Its free, its only 300MB, it runs on the quake 3 engine and missions are objective based (and its multiplayer only).
Not high end in graphics, but fun in gameplay.

Off the top of my head...

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (free, but multiplayer only)
Half-Life 2
Doom 3
Far Cry
You really can't go wrong with many WW2 games, but I recommend Call of Duty and Brothers In Arms: Road To Hill 30

You may not to play all of those on their highest settings, but I run a 2.0 Pentium 4 GHz, with 1024 MB ram, and a GeForce3 Ti 200, and get by with most games on medium to high settings (depending on the game).

The Original Doom Trilogy. Granted it's old, but it IS a classic that should
never be passed.

Call of Duty and the expansion pack. Very cinematic campaign, excellent multiplayer, works well on my system which is similar in stats (2.6 GB, 512 RAM, Geforce 6800)

I would also recomend Half Life 2, dont worry too much about RAM specs. I only have 256MB of RAM and I can run it fine.

...really?
I had the thing on low settings and it stalled before i upped my ram.
Which made it run smooth as ice.

Trilogy?? I thought there were only two games.

Doom
Doom II
Doom III (same story as the original, but with new graphics, etc., etc.)

Sigh. Well, it pains me to recommend this, because I personally dislike the game, but everybody seems to love Halo. so if you get it you'll probably like it alot. (There's a PC version out.)

I hear Breed is pretty good, even though it's a linear single-player experience with no multiplayer component. But you can get it for really cheap now.

Deus Ex2 : Invisible War is supposed to be another good shooter. The original Deus Ex, even though the graphics will be old and outdated, is still excellent.

The original Unreal is still awesome, even today.

For Enemy Territory, I recommend the "Bunker #1-#4" servers.
They are nicely regulated by Admins (and idiots kept out). Servers can be found both in the USA and Europe (but you should have some expirience with the game and objectives before you enter those servers).

They also often change the maps and add new ones so you wont ever find boredom on those servers :)

Your system looks pretty nice, and in my honest opinion, you should be able to play most games out there today, such as the previously mentioned Doom 3, Half-Life 2, Unreal Tournament 2004. What type of games are you more interested in, just single player or multiplayer or a mixture of both?
