So all we really know is that Hawman, Hawkgirl, Hawkwoman, Adamn Strange, Green Lantern Kyle Rayner and Kilowog are in it.

She was the partner of the Katar Hol Hawkman that came from Thanagar, and is from there herself.

I don't know, the return of Donna Troy ends right at Crisis, I can't see her helping out Kyle and the others while at the same time only just coming back in her own series.

Didn't Hal say in the first issue of Countdown that Guy & Kyle are in space so chances of Guy appearing should be quite high.

If that is Despero , it wouldn't be a Rahn/thanagar war , it would be the 2 planets and the heroes fighting Despero. :D
It's probably his species . Besides , after his "extreme makeover" during the Justice league Detroit era , Despero headfin has looked different from his kind and different from the one shown in the pic.

Well, I guess this means Rayner survived Rebirth. :) He must hold the record at this point for longest running Hal Jordan replacement, even if he's kind of redundant now that Hal is back (we have the real GL, the psycho GL, the minority GL, and, uh...the Spider-Man GL? Green Lantern Junior?).

i'm not REALLY hyped about this project
in fact, out of the four titles out of Countdown, this is what i have the least interest in. if not that i'm following the Adam Strange series, i wouldn't pick it up. but Kyle, Kilowogg and maybe Guy seems like a good reason

I think it's the same race as Tomar-Re. There's on in the background and one on the lower right.

Very cool!! That almost looks like a Dryad (Bloks race) in the background too. Since I love the outerspace aspect of the DCU this one is going to be great. There hasn't a been a truly great story using the cosmic side of the DCU since Invasion.

It's made me start reading Hawkman. I'm now hunting for issues of Adam Strange and Green Lantern: Rebirth because of it.

Any word on if the much rumored L.E.G.I.O.N. series will be springing up out of this?

Haven't seen any word on a L.E.G.I.O.N. series, but I would love to see one appear. :)

DC keeps saying that they want to bring back some of their old sci-fi titles like L.E.G.I.O.N. and Omega Men. I think Adam Strange is supposed to be a springboard for them. It wouldn't surprised me if we see one of those books come back. And maybe more like Darkstars and even Captain Comet (I can dream can't I?).

Added this to the rules last night, but I thought I'd post it in the particular threads to let you guys know what's going on:
I just noticed that the four mini series tying into Countdown are staggered so that there'll be a different issue each week.
So we can showcase and focus discussion on each of the four, we've decided for the week an issue is released to sticky the mega-thread for that particular mini. After a week it'll be replaced by the next and so on. Hopefully this will cut down on duplicate discussion and make things a bit interesting for you guys. :)

Marc Campos and Ivan Reis are on art duties for this book. Not sure which one is responsible for Mr. Hall though. I know that they both did the art on Action Comics #824 and #825 recently. The Teen Titans FAMILY LOST arc has some stuff by them too.

It's not that Reis and Campos do a bad job, necessarily, but the art is a huge comedown from Ferry's work on ADAM STRANGE. Having ADAM STRANGE #8 and RANN/THANAGAR #1 come out on the same day raises some unfortunate comparisons.
