While doing a google search on Blue Beetle, I accidentally came across a site giving detailed information on the Golden-Age (1940's) Blue Beetle. It also answered a question I posed in the CtIC thread: Was the golden-age Beetle the same character as the later Charlton character?
The answer is No! The golden age BB (published by Fox) had only a passing resemblance to the silver-age BB (published by Charlton). About the only things they had in common were the BB name, the secret identity of Dan Garrett and a similar (but not identical) costume. This in spite of a one-shot comic published by Americomics (shortly before DC acquired the rights) which tried to connect the two.
Lots of interesting info on the golden age BB here. I don't think I realized that he was one of the earliest super-heroes (clear back to 1939) or that he once had his own radio program!
Check out this fascinating site here (http://bluebeetle.50megs.com/).
