This is a poll to answer one question. To everyone who said they would drop Amazing Spider-Man because of Sins Past, have you kept your promise? Its ok if you didnt, I know how tempting it can be sometimes, that Peter is just so darn loveable. I would just like to know.

For the record, I have not picked up ASM since that arc, and I am doing my best to stay away from it. After all, if you dont let your wallet do the talking, Marvel will not listen.

The people that drop a title because of 1 crappy storyline are the real blasphemers. Shame on you :D

Do the old comics count? If so, I am weak. If not, I kept my promise.

*me gets riot gear on*
sins past wasnt that bad a story tbh i started reading asm again because of that arc. in fact found myself buying nearly all the spidey related titles.
i'm sure comic shops/marvel/dc etc play subpliminal messages through the music they play in there shops......'buy all the comics you can etc...'

Sins of the Past really chapped my arse, but I haven't stopped collecting ASM for years. With the current stroy being *meh*, I am collecting to be a completists since SM is my most favoritest superhero.

Sin's Past was only part of the reason I dropped the Spidey books. I refuse to buy them again until they are fixed.

That hasn't stopped me from buying Spider-Girl and almost stopped me from buying Spider-Man/Human Torch. Fortunately, that series is set in the past so it isn't effected by the crap of today.

In short, I buy the Spider-Man that I recognize as Spider-Man. I do not recognize anything beyond The Book of Ezekiel as Spider-Man. Not Marvel Knights, not Spectacular after Disassembled, and not this alternate reality of Amazing where Gwen is a slut.

I have to admit that New Avengers is tempting. I would probably get it if I wasn't afraid of having to encounter Peter's new wrist penises.

I buy GOOD Spider-man books. Stuff like the Spider-man/Human Torch team up. I don't buy apperances by Gwen's kids or the current version of Green Goblin.

Let's just say that it kept me from picking up ASM. I have been enjoying Marvel Knights Spider-Man so much, I was thinking about picking up another Spider-title (Avengers doesn't count). But, the thought of Sins of the past just rubbed me the wrong way.

I did drop ASM because of the past 8/9 months of Spidey have been unenjoyable.

JMS had an intruiging twist on spidey in having him encounter magical foes. Then w/ Sins past and this current arc the stories have taken cynical view w/ no resolution at the end. Maybe thats the direction JMS is going for but thats not what I enjoy in a Spidey story.

I liked what JMS was doing w/ Aunt May. Her campaign to help Spider Man's image was an interesting sub plot, but unfortunately seems it's been dropped.

And the whole Avengers tower thing is too much. I have no interest in reading any of it.

Its odd, back in 99' I didnt read any Marvel - Then around 01' I was reading New Xmen, Xforce/Static, Amazing Spider Man and Daredevil and a couple more. Now, its just down to D.D.

I am staying strong and boycotting JMS!!! (I am reading the issues at Borders but not giving my money to Marvel. Don't know if that's cheating but I am not buying it)

I dropped SSM at the Sins Remembered point too but will probably buy last issue

I would never drop a title because of one bad arc (and I liked Sins Past... a lot)

The last arc with Spider-Totem finale was bad too, I think. You can do whatever you want but I don't find it hard (since this latest story isn't so good besides the pretty pictures, IMO). A person has to follow their heart and conscience.. I already dropped ASM twice and came back...they can only hope I care enough to come back after JMS finally leaves (I know they don't care about one person but I am not the only one boycotting)

I wasn't buying during Sins Past- caught soem it, and what I did I enjoyed. I started pickign it up with Skin deep- which isn't anything rivintg, but I thought it was a solid story and showcased alot of the reasons I love Peter.

Yes, of course you did, but thats because you are JMS in disguise. At this point, its painfully obvious, since no other human actually liked Sins Past except for Quesada and JMS. And how do I know you arent Quesada? Because you are not totally incompetent. :p

I liked Sins Past and I know I'm not Quesada or JMS.

Didn't like Sins Remembered, though.

Well, obviously, Onizuka and Kevinroc are both clonesof Joey Q. :p

And wait a sec here. Kevin, you are so protective about Superman and DC, but you liked a story that trampled over classic Spidey??

I'm with you here. The Spidey books as a whole are really poor right now, IMO. I did pick up MK Spider-Man #12 to finish out the arc, but I am now done with it. Ultimate Spider-Man is about as stale as they come right now. And ASM has JMS on it, which I will not touch due to Sins Past.

And by all accounts it's getting worse. Now Peter, MJ and Aunt May are moving into Avengers Mansion??? BLAH!

No thanks, there's a lot of good stuff going on at DC that I'd much rather plunk my money down on.

I made a promise to get the current arc and see If JMS would fix some of the problems. He did some good work and I kept pickin It up. However I feel like someone said In my comic shop.

Ok why would Peter even join the Avengers ? He worries about villains enough as It Is and wouldn't wanna make Aunt May or Mary-Jane a target. Then he moves to a huge skyscraper to live . This Is as far from Spiderman as can be.

I like Peter joining. But moving In Is a huge step away from what made Peter Parker....Peter Parker. The guy lived In an aprtment or at home and barely could pay the bills. Now Its like Marvel's moving him so far from what he Is.....I picture Superman before Crisis on Infinate Earths reportin for GBS on TV.

Most of JMS's run has been lackluster to me, Sins Past was the breaking point and my long run of collecting Amazing ended with the final issue of that arc. (I've been collecting since about #200 if anyone is interested in how long I've been around).

argh! exactly! the idea itself is not bad at all. i'm really enjoying New Avengers, but how exactly is he gonna remain the same old Spidey with all this stuff happening? how is he gonna keep his ID secret?

i'm a very worried Spidey fan.

I didnt even finish sins past it was such a turd.

AS for dropping the whole book for one storyline, that would be a bit quick to judge.

But as JMS has decided to crap all over the old comics as well, and they are made crap by proxy
