OK, this may be a bit obscure, but here goes..
Way back when (about 18+ years ago) I recieved a book as a birthday present. As it turns out, said book was a bit too adult and scary for my then-current age, and it wound up being sold off.
The book concerned a group of cute and fuzzy style toys in a department store who are endangered when a motley group of "bad toys" (a tank, a scary clown doll, etc.) enter the toy department. The good toys must then fend off the attacks of the bad toys. One passage in particular that sticks out in my mind describes the evil tank toy slowly grinding and climbing up an escelator to get at the heroes.
Does this ring any bells? Any help would be appriciated.
