Y'know, it's *really* hard to argue with these three.

But here's my other top three:

1. STEGRON: Marvel Team-Up 19-20.
2. Death of Aunt May: Amazing 400. (But there's another half-dozen J.M. DeMatties stories that are close.)
3. The Gwen Stacy Sub-plot from Ultimate.

Edit: Geez. I need to have the Lizard story from ASM (first series) 45 on there, too. That's my favorite "Spidey wins through Science" story.

Bendis ain't gonna be on Ultimate forever, and Gwen was a great character. If he didn't know what to do with her, it seems like he should've just moved her outta town or something... Keep her in the toybox for other writers to play with.

He actually intends to do it indefinitely.
And even having her date Flash would have been interesting, or having Venom be obsessed with her after his failed date-rape attempt, or having her try the vigilante life and finding out how hard Pete has it, or having her become a cop, or... I dunno, she could come out and start hitting on Liz. There, five ideas already. Stupid Bendis, I love his work, but he's a lazy moron sometimes.
