So who's going to this one? I'm a bit disappointed that I won't be able to make it. I have those nasty "prior commitments" to take care of, plus an overall lack of energy to go into the city. But it's a pretty big con, including guests from the left coast, like Erik Larsen and Jim Lee.

Plus, several D-grade sci fi television series celebrities. And models. UGH

Hey Augie,
I may still go. I was looking forward to it because as you pointed out there is a decent list of creators that I would like to get some autographs from. Jim Lee is always so tough in San Diego. I wouldn't mind getting Matt Wagner to sign my Batman/Grendel crossovers. The weather forecast is calling for "flooding rains" and as you mentioned in your post, that is kind of sapping my energy to go into the city for the day. Who knows? The call is 50-50 right now.

I hate being the bad guy...but it's nothing special. The con is still in the Penn Pavillion, where you can get easily lost. There are a few "name" creators, but not that many. You can burn through dealers within two days. One upside is that if you can't find a good deal, you can hike up to Midtown Comics, which has back issues going for 40 percent off. It sucks...NYC has the Big Two, we're days removed from Countdown, yet we don't have a massive con of our own. Just the same ol' crap we get every few months. It's less fun than driving to Philly in June.
