What Reprint Volumes Would You Guys Like to See? Yea- I'm sure there have been threads like this before, but they're always useful.

My choices.

Spider-Man Visionaries: Roger Stern Volume 1
Begins Roger Stern's excellent run on Spider-Man, with great battles with the Black Cat, Juggernaut, Cobra, and Hyde, and a concluding 4 part epic with Tarantula, and Will O' the Wisp. Amazing Spider-Man #224-227, 229-236

Spider-Man Visionaries: Roger Stern Volume 2
Amazing Spider-MAn #238-251. The first Hobgoblin stories, return of Mary Jane Watson, The Kid Who Collected Spider-Man, the origin of the Vulture, and more in the second half of Roger Stern's Amazing Spdier-Man run.

Spider-Man: Return of the Burglar
Amazing Spider-Man #193-200. There's great historical significance to these stories: The first appearance of the Black Cat. The return of Mysterio after an absence of over 10 years. Kingpin's retirement, which leads directly into his appearances in Daredevil. The rematch with the Burglar. And quality wise: the stories are all excellent, and so's the art.

Mark Millar's MK Spider-Man Run Hardcover
I want to see a single hardcover of this 12 issue run, which I consider to be the definitive (and one of the best) Spider-Man stories ever.

Spectacular Spider-Man Visionaries: JM Dematteis & Sal Buscema Volume 1
Spectacular Spider-Man #178-189. The return of Harry Osborn as a villain. Excellent battles with Vermin, and Vulture, and one of the funniest Spider-Man stories ever.

Spectacular Spider-Man Visionaries: JM Dematteis & Sal Buscema Volume 2
Spectacular Spider-Man #190-200. The excellent conclusion of Dematteis & Buscema's run on Spectacular Spider-Man.

Spectacular Spider-Man Magazine #2
A never reprinted (except for an upcoming 50 dollar Masterworks hardcover) Stan Lee- Jon Romita Sr. Spider-Man VS. Green Goblin story.

What do you guys think? And what would you like to see?

i would buy everything you brought up cyber...

especially the dematteis/buscema stuff, which was easily one of the best strecthes of spidey stuff ever...

it brought some meaning back to the spidey/goblin lore...which has since been destroyed with norman's re-emergence in the late 90's...

The Clone Saga. No, seriously! Like it or loathe it, it's probably the most significant event in Spidey's recent history, and yet many people have never had a chance to actually read the thing and make up their own minds about it. Besides, it's not like Marvel is averse to reprinting notoriously unpopular stories in big fat expensive trades: case in point, Maximum Carnage, which maybe, oh, three people on this planet didn't thoroughly despise.

Thought of several more:

Spider-Man VS. The Lizard
There's lots of stories to choose from. Possibilities include: Amazing Spider-Man #6, 44-45, Ultimate Marvel Team Up #10, Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man #127, Giant Size Spider-Man #5 (by Gerry Conway, and Ross Andru), Amazing Spider-Man #313

Spider-Man: Gang War
Amazing Spider-Man #284-289, Spider-Man VS. Wolverine, Web of Spider-Man #29-30. Significant stories by Priest, with tons of guest starr appearances (which should increase sales of the trade), and a key chapter in the Hobgoblin saga (even if it was a bad chapter). Plus, Spider-Man VS. Wolverine is one of my favorite Spider-Man stories ever.

Spider-Man: Doctor Octopus VS. The Owl
Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man #72-79. The story has a significant impact on Roger Stern's run on Spider-Man, and Spidey's relationship with the Black Cat, and the final battle with Doctor Octopus is just excellent.

Spider-Man Visionaries: Peter David
Either reprinting his run on Spectacular, or simply his best issues, amongst them the hilarious Amazing Spider-MAn #267, brilliant Sin-Eater saga in Spectacular #107-110, it's excellent follow up in Spectacular #134-136, his Spider-Man- Spider-Man 2099 crossover, and Spider-Man's appearance from Captain Marvel (last series) #10.

Amazing Fantasy
I want to see Kurt Busiek's excellent Amazing Fantasy #16-18 reprinted with it's gorgeous painted art. A few of the best Lee- Ditko Amazing Fantasy tales could also be used if more pages are needed.

Death & Destiny
Lee Weeks' mini series is simply worth reprinting somehow.

Spider-Man the Manga: An original graphic novel translating whatever storyline began in Spider-Man the Manga #31.

I was thinking of a Spider-Man VS. Mysterio trade, until I remembered how many Mysterio stories work because the reader is unaware that Mysterio is the villain until the end of the story, something which would be ruined by a trade composed exclsuively of Mysterio stories. It'd be redundant to reprint Ditko- Romita stories, because of the Barnes & Noble Masterworks editions.

Maximum Carnage was rereleased as a trade because people were paying 40 dollars for it on E-Bay.

Joe Queseda has said (jokingly, but you never know) he's been considering reprinting the Clone Saga as 1-2 black & white essential volumes, as he's actually gotten lots of requests for that.

Ok, just some quick agreement. I loved the Clone Saga. That was one of the biggest reasons I got back into comics after I heard about it like.....5 years after it finished. I researched like crazy finding everything Scarlet Spider/ Ben Reilly related from merchandise to comics so I would totally buy the trades. That and the Marvel Knights I would buy as well.

And well, I have to admit.....I was one of the Maximum Carnage 40 buck payers.....worst Spiderman story ever......but I can actually say I read them......as much as that says.

Luigi, why didn't you just get the original issues? Surely they wouldn't have been 40 dollars total.

The 1rst Clone Saga
ASM#146-149.

Already reprinted in the Spider-Man: Clone Genesis TPB :D This TPB is long out-of-print, so you may have to do some searching to find a copy.

Death of the Stacys
ASM #88-90, ASM#121-122.

Already reprinted in the Spider-Man: The Death Of Captain Stacy and
Spider-Man: The Death Of Gwen Stacy TPBs :D

Spiderman vs. The Hobgoblin
Anything with Hobgoblin 1 and Spiderman fighting.

Some of these stories were printed in a TPB entitled Spider-Man: The Origin Of The Hobgoblin, which features the early stories by Roger Stern. This one, unfortunately is out-of-print.

Good luck finding these...they're all worthy additions to your collection.

They are in two separate volumes, as I stated in my post.

Exactly. That proves my point. I WANT them together.

Exactly. That proves my point. I WANT them together.

They're really two separate storylines, but I guess I can see your point. They're still a good deal, as it would cost you considerably more to buy the individual back issues.

The TPB Spider-Man: Son Of The Goblin picks up where the other two leave off, with Harry assuming the mantle of the Green Goblin. And of course, I've already mentioned the TPB Spider-Man: Clone Genesis, which reprints Amazing Spider-Man #141-150 and the sections of Giant Size Spider-Man #5 and Amazing Spider-Man #151 that were relevant to the storyline. Worth getting - all of them.

ACK!

I'd like to see a Web of Spider-Man trade, one reprinting all those cool "LOTDK" style stories.

Web Of Spider-Man was always the poor relation of the Spider-titles. It never had a regular creative team and never seemed to find its own identity. There were some good story arcs here and there, but I don't know if the entire run of the series warrants a reprinting.

I would like to see those trades, too. Also a series of Paul Jenkins Ultimate Collection books similar to the JMS ones, which will collect PPSM 20-57 as well as Spectacular Spider-Man 1-27 (it'll have some work by other writers, but I don't think it'll matter).

Also all of Tangled Web in one volume and a series of the original Spider-Girl.

Ideally, I'd like every major Spider-Man book released in some sort of collected edition.
