I am very impressed with Toxin's preview... great way to finally do a good symbiote and their writing him well in this and Venom/Carnage. I REALLY like this character.

Toxin is the offspring of Carnage. He made his debut in last years mini Venom/Carnage. The symbiote took over a cop and the cop it trying to use it for good... so its basically what they tried to do with Venom except this one actually makes sense.

Theres also meant to be something different about Toxin. He's the 1000th Symbiote in the line and this was apparantly a big deal although we never found out why. Seeing as the same writer is writing this mini as Venom/Carnage maybe we'll find out

I think that the 1000th line thing was a big deal because as Venom put it, "the chance for psychological breakdown is great" or something like that. Remember Carnage wanted to kill his offspring and had irrational fears that for some reason it would come after him. On the other hand, Carnage and his human host have always been wack, so this probably isn't a surprise. However, this might lead to Toxin becoming somewhat psychotic despite his host.

I was pleasantly surprised by the art in Toxin...(Never heard of Darick Robertson...anyone knows what else he is done?)
His stuff reminds me of Perez' dynamic, detailed and expressive lines.
A good mix of action and characterization.
I will definitely give it a four star review.

I wasn't even planning on buying the book...just went to the store, picked up a couple of 25 cent back issues and checked out Toxin's first few pages, which intrigued me and that was it.
Definitely worth it, IMO...

Man, you gotta love all this ridiculous symbiote nonsense.
Can you imagine how different Spidey's life would be without 'em.

George Clooney?

It's somewhat apocryphal , but as the story goes, the Ennis-penned out of continuity story was so depraved, it turned Clooney off of doing the character.
