We all know how much Batman:TAS has influenced the Bats book and largely in a positive way.

Montoya, Harley, the new look at characters like Riddler and Freeze etc.

So, I was wondering, what do people think of possible influences from the new "The Batman" series will have in future years, or is it too early to tell? Sure, there isn't that big a difference in either Penguin (true, he has enough HTH skills to give Batman a workout but in design and characterization, not a big change) or Catwoman (her look actually resembles the current look more than the look people are familiar with from the old B:TAS)

Will the Riddler get a new look (the riddler's marilyn manson while looking stupid on paper, seems to work in actual animation)? Especially given how the current Riddler gets no respect whatsoever even outside of Bat books(e.g. in Hawkman, a villain talks about how he is going to be bigger than the joker so much that people will think the joker is the riddler). I hate to say this but the cartoon actually treated Riddler as more of "serious" character than the Batbooks have treated him in years.

What about the rumours on toonzone that the female detective will become the new Batgirl?

What about new characters? Think we will ever see those two detectives from the show being introduced?

I don't think it will have any real influence. Most people I've talked to either hate it or are completley indferent to it.

i don't like it personally i loved The Animated Series and wanna get it on dvd. I think they changed the characters too much for me. Sorry but the Joker to me is a criminal who can fight batman in hand-to-hand combat, but will kill with guns.

Penguin is a enemy who uses others to fight for him.

But i understand why you have to update some of the characters. It is a childrens show afterall, and most of batman's are not real physical threats to him as it pertains to hand-to-hand combat (with a few exceptions) but use more psychological weapons (in addition to firearms and others to do the dirty work), so ya gotta make some that aren't physical threats, physical threats.

They gotten to Ra's Al Ghul yet. I liked those episodes which included him. The idea of the Lazarus Pit is just awesome to me.

In ten years almost no one will remember "The Batman".

Actually, probably none of that happens, and if it does happen it's not due to the current series. The redesigns for the series are a bunch of misfires.

Riddler was a complete joke both before and after Hush. Only very recently in lotDK was he revamped, and got a very non-cartoony "Queer eye for a straight guy" look.

Cassandra is the new Batgirl and all signs point to her staying that way.
