I was on the dc comics website and saw a page for Warren Ellis's Stormwatch run. I was wondering if anyone heard about a posible revival. Also I was wondering if anyone would like to see a new StormWatch series?

I'd love to see it come back, as long as somebody good was on it. I loved Ellis's run, and I really enjoyed Wright's as well. I have heard rumors of it coming back, but nothing definite.

Not unless it is Ellis. I know everybody hates him, but you can't beat those old Stormwatch stories. As for Micah the sham.... Well we know we won't see him until Liefeld starts up his next comic imprint. ;)

I'd love to see a new renditon of the series. I've read the series since issue 1. I've enjoyed all the different versions of the mag, including Team Achilles. Its a shame Micah had that mental breakdown! It doesn't have to be Ellis that does it, but i agree that it had better be someone good! Ellis and Micah created some big shoes to fill.

Thanks for the responces; I'd love to see a new series especially one bring the superhuman/soldier elements. I think i saw on another forum somebody suggest a Santini/King co-lead team.

PS: Does anyone know what Micha Wright has been up to? I liked his writing but it was bad form on the service lie.

I still want to see how he was going to end his last series. DC and Micah resolved things in a most unprofessional manner. I hope Micah does well in a new profession, but I don't want to see him in comicdom again.

What makes you say that? I generally see his stories held in some regard. (not arguing...the statement just took me by surprise)

How were DC unproffesional?

How were DC unproffesional?

They cancelled an already solicited comic in mid-arc because of something that was really unrelated to the comic.

well ellis's stormwatch is pretty much all dead. so he would have to have a new team or use whatever is left from the original superpowers.
i wish micah could have finished his story, and maybe it's just me, but i didn't think the lie was that big of a deal.

It was a big deal when he was using his lies to back up his political arguments. As far as Storwatch goes though, it was completely irrellevant.

Check out some old editions of Lying in the Gutters from around the time that the book was cancelled. Rich posted a copy of the script for the final issue (or the last one that was solicited but was never printed), and while it's been a while since I read it, it was enjoyable.

Personally, I loved Team Achilles and would have continued to buy it, regardless of Wright's lie.

As for Ellis' version...loved that, too. I think it should be made into an Absolute Authority v0.5 (I guess it would have to be divided into two books...one for each volume) or something. It really needs the hardcover treatment.

I always figured the consensus for Ellis' Wildstorm work was positive.

I can understand people not digging his more recent work, but Stormwatch, Planetary, and The Authority?

I hope Wright comes back to comics. It's not like he's the first liar in comics and he told some very good stories.

His Stormwatch was a great read.

I have to weigh in now. First, I think that Warren Ellis' Stormwatch (especially Change or Die) and The Authority (all three arcs) are the best team superhero comics that I have ever read. period. I would also like to see Micah return to comics; I liked Team Achilles and was very eager for Vigilante.

I was under the impression that the series was going under anyway.

I reckon they saw it as damage control on a situation that could have affected their image.
Had he been selling in the millions though they might've kept it going.

(guess it was unproffessional to the fans, but more proffesional on a public image front or somthing - can't say I'd disagree with them, but I wasn't left mid-arc).

(it's better than Ellis Hellblazer where they just acted like a bunch of pansies).

It would have been a little less unprofessional if they had had the decency to at least include a "this is the final issue, thank you for reading" message instead of a cliffhanger so that people without internet are probably still waiting for the final issue to arrive one day.

Ever read Battle Chasers?

Maybe that issue will come one day.
Still got some time to kill before it's out of the game.

It was. IIRC they'd already anounced which issue would be the final issue and solicited it. Then when his lies came out, they decided not to publish the issue they'd solicited leaving the book hanging mid-arc. In my opinion that is extremely unprofessional and spiteful behaviour.

But probably didn't gernate as much bad will as they feared that publishing it would have.

They could have posted a summary on their site to avoid leaving us loyal readers hanging then.
