Just read Hellsing volume 6 and... wow.. it jsut keeps getting so much more amazing. Also, Berserk is quite amazing too. Been picking up the US copies as they come out, but I'm current with the chapters out in Japan because I cannot get enough of it. I prefer One PIece to Naruto. Though I hear the manga is much better than the drawn out anime for Naruto, I still rather have washed my hands of it.

Damn, I wish I had the dough to buy more manga. But what I'm trying to get now is Ranma 1/2 and Akira.
But what I DO try to stay away from is TokyoPop manga. I dunno why, but most of the stuff it puts out annoys me.

You'll cave.
You obviously have not seen Planetes yet. TokyoPop is just a company, man. If you dig Akira, I think that Planetes might be of *some* interest to you. I know it is to me! I've only read the first book--I have the second, but I haven't had enough time to sit down with it and just plow through it. It is quite good though.
Also, on a more viscious side, Battle Royale...I'm not a big manga reader, but TokyoPop puts out a ton of stuff that I would one day like to check out.

Weren't you banned before Lucifer [{The Sinful}] for posting pictures like this under the guise of Artanis? Violating a ban is bad...

What the hell is wrong with you Lucifer?????? Are you just completely whacked out on drugs! How can you say that about governments?! Government is what keeps people from just walking around doing bad stuff. Though it still happens anyway, it would be on a much larger scale.
And I agree, VIOLATING A BAN IS VERY BAD!

Anyways, my favorites right now are
Gantz
Negima!
Eyeshield 21
Gacha Gacha
Show me the money
The Hating Girl
Pretty Face
Kiseijuu
Shura no mon
Spiral
Ai Yori Aoshi
Gakuen Heaven
I have a HUGE collection of manga and anime but the only manga that I have in book form is Negima! the rest are all downloaded.
I know it's a lot but the only ones I pay for are Gantz and Negima!
so it's a win-win
I guess I didn't answer the thread with my prior post. I like:
Planetes
FLCL--even though the manga made next to no sense
Battle Royale for the first few volumes, but then it started to drag.
Something called "Forbidden School" or something like that. The volume I have, has this Tetsuo-looking dude on the cover, and the art is really kinetic and cool. My godbrother has a volume of it in Italian, which is how we could determine the title at all, since the Japanese title was in Kanji, not convenient English.
I adored Sand Land, and appreciated that it was s single-volume, self-contained book. What a relief, right?
I really dug Riot, but was disappointed when the creator abandoned it. Ditto for Drakuun. Those were each my favorites and then *poof* nothing.
Phoenix and Buddha are excellent, and the best Tezuka one can get here in America.
Anything by Rumiko Takahashi is of interest to me, but I only have a few of the books (from the olden, $15.95 days).
All of Masamune Shirow's books, particularly Ghost, for the art, and Dominion, all around...all of Katsuhiro Otomo's books, and Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel books. Taiyo Matsumoto's No. 5 and Black & White.

WTF? Why am I naughty? Is it because I downloaded it. Who cares? I put plenty of money into the manga and anime business every year, so I think I'm entitled to download a bit of the story to see what it's about.

That's OK. The only manga I pay for is Negima! and the animes I pay for are Gantz, DBZ, DB, and Samurai X. So don't sweat it. Just goofing. And even for just those it's still plenty of money. I don't see the reasoning of paying for something you can get for free.

well, one would be to get the real thing.
Another is to keep people alive.
But...it's whatever.

No, it is about five pirates, Luffy D. Monkey, the stretchy captain who ate the devil 'gum-gum' fruit, Roronoa Zoro, the swordsman and master of the three sword style(two in his hands, one in his mouth), Nami, the female navigator and theif, Usopp, the marksman, and Sanji the martial artist cook. They are all searching for "One Piece" a treasure so vast it was hidden from the world on the most dangerous sea route, the Grand Line.

It is drawn half way between cartoony american style and adult anime style, nice mix.

I'm more of a fan of mangas that have clean lines. I hate magas like Freesia, that looks like it's just a sketch. I guess I'm more of an adult style fan, though I enjoy the occasional cartoony style.

It's a manga about a future society that has problems with jail population. So they let the people go and tell them that someone is after them to kill them. If the convict kills the pursuer they are exonerated from their crime. It has a bit of nudity and the lines are horrible. Makes it really hard to read. Go to http://www.stoptazmo.com to check it out. You have to download and unzip them before you can read them though. You can find all my favorites at that site.

Actually once you get into it midway they start hovering permantly between 6 or 7 crew members. As a matter of fact unless I miss my guess they're fixing to get another one(I've nearly caught up).

I checked the first book out at Barnes & Noble and I'm thinking about getting the issues that were there. One Piece was pretty cool for just reading the first book.
