I've heard there is a series where the Batman has to make a plan to take down all of the JLA.

is it the The Tower of Babel ??

Yup. It's a great story, and the next trade "Divided We Fall" complements it well. Mark Waid's run on JLA was easily my favorite.

What really stunned me was the way the rest of the JLA was shocked speechless at the discovery that Batman, everybody's favorite Obsessive-Compulsive-Paranoid Detective, actually had worked out contingency plans for what to do if any given one of them went totally rogue and had to be taken down as quickly and efficiently as possible.

This is kinda like being astonished at the following discoveries:

1. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
2. The weather in winter is usually colder than the weather in summer.
3. Ocean water tastes kind of salty.

And these clueless idiots are the first line of defense when someone tries to take over the world???

I actually wrote a bit of a humorous parody of what might "really" have gone on when they were behind closed doors passing judgment on Batman. It was scathing and I really ought to dig it out, finish it, and post it someday.

I was more shocked that Bats was stupid enough to leave the plans sitting around on his computer
