Remove all the bat symbols and stuff related to batman and jus have it be the car. How much would the batmobile go for?

It really depends on which version youre referring to. Even with all the 'bat related' stuff and weaponry taken off, it most likely won't be street legal, so it would be relegated to either a racer or a show car... if it's an existing car modified to look like a batmobile? Many hobbyists have done exactly that... if it's the actual batmobile using WayneTech R & D? I'd guess millions...

Alex Ross made a Batmobile out of his Studebaker, the 1940s Batmobile version

Or even more curious ..... if someone stole the Batmobile ....how would Bats reclaim it LEGALLY ? What proof does he have to show who it belongs to ?

Bruce Wayne would step forward to claim it based on all the 'stolen' R & D used in building it :)

Batman would beat their ass and take it anyway, since no one would be able to account for all that restricted tech themselves?

Also, the Batmobile would kick ass on racing circuits.

That makes me like Alex Ross even more. I didn't think that was possible...

I was readin about someone who customises cars and he will do Adam West's Batmobile to order. His first one had a problem though. He forgot to add a cut-off switch to the flame effect after burner and the petrol (gas) station ejected him before he could fill up in-case he blew the entire area to kingdom come :D

You have to modify the question a bit.

If it was just going to be a one-off, then I think you wouldn't get much more then $100,000 for it at auction, and probably not even that much.

There's no "history" behind the car.

Now, if it was a production model, and you played up all of the bright shiny noises and flashy things and various and sundry accoutremants that the car had, you could probably get away with pricing it in the $100-175,000 range

Again, depends on the Batmobile. The tank thing from DKR might get, oh, what, 4 feet to the gallon? :D

At this point, considering DCU technology and considering JLA technology and considering Metropolis had flying cars for a bit, what are the chances the Batmobile actually uses petrol?

True true.

Didn't think of that.

A more specific question, how many batmobiles have there been?
