If Marvel finally decided on greenlighting the Spider-Woman solo book that Bendis himself mentioned as a possibility, what would you hope to get?
Would you like to see some of those bizarre villains from the early part of her first series revamped and (Waxman, Brothers Grimm, Nekra)?
I personally would like some of them to be turned into badasses ala Flash's Rogues...
Would you like a little of that dark,sorta-supernatural flavor the book had at the beggining?
Or would you rather see a book that leans more towards espionage and intrigue now that she is a Hydra agent?
Or maybe elements of both?
Who would you love to see writing and doing art?
Which other established Marvel villains would u like to see?
Just wondering...

Well I followed the link to Marvel UK heroes page that someon on these boards has and there's an entry on Jessica. Got to say....messed up history. Start afresh from this new Bendis reboot.

I would have to agree that it's not exactly a simple, easy to understand origin,
(But it's not as convoluted as Donna Troy's or Power-Girl's... ;-)
Who knows, maybe with the whole House Of M thing, Jessica's origin will be streamlined/simplified/clarified, hopefully retaining the basic elements, like Wundagore Mountain, Spider-Blood serum and Uranium poisoning...

Well i could see a mix of booth spy stuff and supernatural working .
Among the foes i'd like to see , there is Mogan Le Fey , if possible a revamped one .

I would definitely like some darkshadowy element...after all, Jessica was born and raised in Wundagore...and C'thon always goes after his children.
I loved her book's first 20 or so issues because of their bizarre tone.
Foes I would like to see her against:
Morgan le Fay
Typhoid Mary
Viper
The Night Shift
Serpent Society
Sons Of The Serpent
Nekra
Spider-Wasp
Blockbuster
tangentman

For starters, bring back Lindsay McCabe! One of the best elements from Chris Claremont's run was the friendship between Jessica and Lindsay. They don't necessarily need to be roomies again, but maybe find out Lindsay's whereabouts and current activities.
Combine the gothic and spy elements, maybe even in the same villain. For new enemies, I would like to see Jess go up against the Hellfire Club, Zodiac, and Sabretooth.

Hey, as long as Spidey gets a cameo its all good with me. If catwoman can have a book, for godsakes why can't spider-woman?

I think the best SW book would be able to balance all these elements. Although I love the early gothic stuff and want to see that re-introduced, the Hydra/SHIELD angle should not be ignored either.
Villains & guests
Bros Grimm
Hangman
Showdown with Papa Evolutionary
Mordred the Mystic, Vicky Montesi and the Darkhold crew

I agree.
A balance of the spy/intrigue elements that will naturally come out of her association with Hydra and SHIELD, and the gothic, bizarre elements that could emerge out of her past with Wundagore, Ch'thon and Morgan Le Fey.
I would like to see lots of action and a unified connection with the Marvel Universe, so as to make her one of Marvel's premiere superheroes.
I agree with the poster who wants to see Lindsay McCabe...she is Jessica's best friend and her sunny personality complements Drew's more serious attitude.
I would add Bree Morrell to the mix...she was always a good foil for Jessica.
As for villains:
Silver Samurai, Viper, Morgan Le Fey, Spider-Wasp, Brothers Grimm, Stunner,
Gypsy Moth, Hammer And Anvil ,Slug

Bree Morrell! Talk about obscure character hidden in the recess of my memory!

Michael Golden should be penciling and inking her. His depiction of her (from Avengers Annual #10) is still my favorite.

My favorite artist that drew Jessica was Steve Leialoha, but Michael Golden was great too.
If there was a new book, I would like someone else to draw her, as long as it's not any of the cartoony/mangaesque artists...I don't hate that style, but I don't think it fits the character.
Maybe Tom Grummett, Mark Bagley or *pant, pant* Adam Hughes!!!

I would love to read a spider-woman comic. And just for the record, I have so dubbed Ms. Drew Hottest of the Marvel Women.
Huzzah!

Damn has claremont written all the main female leads in the marvel universe at one point?
Why hasnt he written wonder woman.
Regardless. Im curious enough about the character i might try it out
But they would have to cancel the other two spider themed girl titles.

Well, Arana, I'm sure will be cancelled, but I doubt that Spider-Girl will, it may not have huge sales, but it has probably the most unified, and proactive fans in all of Marvel's books.
Their grassroots efforts have actually saved the book from cancellation more than once.
Nah, I think Spider-Girl can still be around, besides' it's not set in our "real" time...

I'ld be happy to have a spiderwoman(jess) comicbook on my list too.
And I miss Lindsay.
Even if Jess' Mother is in uncanny and excalibur these days, I'ld like to see Claremont explore further the Jess/Miriem relation :)

I just don't want Jessica to be a "bad guy."
Since I'm not reading all of NA, I don't fully understand her status, but it doesn't look good. (Although I'm glad to have her around under just about any circumstances.)

Wasn't Viper revealed as not-really-Jess's-mom in an issue of Captain America?

After reading Bendis' plans for Jessica in the team (he said that Jessica will be a member of the team for as long as he is writing it) and knowing that he is a fan, I doubt that she will be a "bad guy" in the end....
No to mention that I'm sure the situation she is in will probably turn out to be more complicated than "she-is-evil-and-now-she-spies-on-the-Avengers-for-one-of-their-enemies"...she is IMO working for someone who wants to keep tabs on the team, but doesn't want them dead...

Didn't read that but I know that after Claremont left Spiderwoman it was never spoken about again 'cause the editor of the time didn't liked it.
But I did and like I've said I'd love to see that explored further :)

Stories by Bendis, art by either George Perez or Phil Jimenez and lots of action, intrigue, and yes, some bizarre supernatural shenanigans...

I'd much rather see a Spider-Woman book that leans towards the espionage/intrigue angle because I just prefer that genre slightly more than the supernatural. However, there's nothing that says they can't combine the two a little. I'd kind of like to see Jessica dip into Iron Man's rogue's gallery a bit, and maybe Spider-Man's instead of strictly using the ones from her 70's book, but I'd love to see a few of those old villains brought back with a whole new look (as you mentioned). Keeping it strictly in the superhero genre is a must for me...as opposed to going off in some boring direction where she's hardly ever in costume.
As for the writing I'd love to see Bendis write it, but barring that I'd go for Kirkman, Busiek, David, or ANYone who writes like that.
As for artist I'd definitely be ecstatic if they got, full time, somebody like Finch, Grummet, Perez, Kolins, Bagley, Cho (heh!), or Dodson.

Phil Jiminez on art, NOT Bendis writing (he already did that with Alias). Somebody into obscure Wundagore history, maybe FabNic or somebody oddball like Brian Vaughan. Definitely need super-spy + supernatural stuff.
And I'd like to see Nekra, Werewolf-by-Night, Moondragon, the Shroud, Lilith, Gypsy Moth, the Needle and Viper as foes or friends.

If I may briefly digress...
I may not be a fan of Bendis's dialogue-heavy, static-panel style, but MAN is the artist drawing the HELL out of Spider-Woman's costume! She looks AWESOME!
I'm very impressed. Not quite enough to overcome the first thing I mentioned and give up the change, but a decent first year and hardcover might change my mind.

Bendis likes Jessica Drew, though. He doesn't care about the fake with the telekinetic webbing.

I wouldn't mind Julia being a supporting player or an ocassional guest-star, I find her interesting enough, but clearly, this possible book, IF it happens, will be about Jessica Drew.
Again, IF it is greenlighted (which I pray it is!)

actually, considering the fact that bendis would be the one writing this series, i'd want him to keep his mitts off julia.

Really, you don't have to worry, the character has no appeal to him.

I doubt it, since Julia's only solo book was a 4 issue mini versus Jessica's 50 issue run.
Even the third Spider-Woman, which never was as big a fan favorite as Julia, had 18 issues of a solo series.
I love Julia, but realistically, I doubt she will get a solo book, not when the original Spider-Woman is prominently featured in the current # 1 selling new Avengers.
Personally, I would love to see Julia back in action.

You can't compare a mini to a regular series. Besides sales numbers doesnt always equal quality....hence the current state of the music industry.

I can definitely agree with that.
(can we please get rid of all music by J-lo and Justin Timberlake ? :)
BTW...I love both Julia and Jessica.
