Does anyone know how to do screenshots of a DVD??
I wanted to get screenshots from a DVD on my computer, but it just came out blank...

You have to get a special software to do it with, I know there's some freeware available to do it but alas I can't remember what its called.

"Print Screen" will return blank or screwy images if you have Hardware Acceleration on. Most good players have an "capture frame" feature.

That's what I tried... :o

I use PowerDVD to play DVDs on my PC and it boasts a nice screen capture feature.

Like Kraah says, Print Screen doesn't work for videos if you have hardware acceleration turned on. I think you may be able to go into the player settings and turn off hardware acceleration while you take the pic.
I was going to suggest BSPlayer for taking video screenshots, but it looks like it can't play DVD's :(

Is that a freeware or standard DVD program?
I received a copy for free when I bought my DVD Writer but otherwise you tend to have to pay for it.

A funny trick. With hardward Acceleration on, when you do the screen capture, what you are capturing is the matte colour your computer uses, kinda like a green screen. With the DVD open and playing, go >print screen, then open your image software of choice and paste the image. The movie should appear to be playing in your image editor. Yeah.
