Hi guys,
I'm new here, well not exactly I used to be a regular on the Astro City boards in the mid 90's and I've been lurking on these boards for a few months so I decided to register today so I can get back into reviewing and just general comic chatting.
I used to be a big Vertigo reader but I dropped out of buying monthly comics around late last century. These days I only buy trades and hard covers which brings me to the reason why I started this thread.
When I was buying monthlies one of my favourite comics was Hellblazer, I started reading around 63 when Vertigo first started and I read it up until about 110 or so. I really enjoyed what I read of the Garth Ennis issues and I didn't mind what I read of Paul Jenkins, he's single issues stories stood out but I found he's run got a bit boring after a while.
After all the bad reviews of the Constantine movie (which I still haven't seen but I can wait for the DVD) I decided to give old Johnny boy another try and picked up the new HC by Mike Carey and I really enjoyed it a lot. I also picked up the rare cuts TPB and I am now thinking of hunting down some more trades. Having read most of the Ennis issues I'm thinking of starting with the Azzerello trades but after hearing that they weren't that great I'm considering just waiting for Mr Careys run to start in TPB.
So what TPB's would you long time Hellblazer fans reccomend for someone like myself returning to Johns world to start with?
