For those who have seen episodes 20 & 21 of Samurai Champloo, tell me... have you ever seen a more incredible swordfight in ANY animated venue than the ones between Mugen and Sara?

Speaking as a professional animator, I was blown away by the timing and motions... speaking as a fan of martial arts action, I was blown by the intricacies of the movements... speaking as an anime fan, I was just plain blown away.

Some similar brilliance was achieved in Cowboy Bebop. The movie and the series. These guys are very talented.

Anyone see the latest ep23?? I laughed my rear off more than once. Bothered the neighbors a little too.

I've only seen up to 21, needed a breather after that. :D

Bebop had some moments, but this episode beat 'em all.

i the kung fu scene in the bebop movie was really great.

I think the emotional impact of the sequence gave the fight that much more punch.

ep24 is out. Havn't watched it yet, but I show it just completed downloading. I'll be seeing it tonight. Only two more episodes before the end of the series.

I'll go weep now.

Episodes 25 & 26 are out, if you know where to look for 'em... :D

26 places a definite cap to the story. And, man, that ending was intense... espescially given that the creators have shown they're quite willing to kill a main character at the end of a series. If anyone else has seen it, we could discuss it with spoiler tags.

DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE ENDING OF THE SERIES! YOU'LL BE REALLY SORRY!!

I like that they didn't kill off any of the trio, and they've left it nicely open for a movie (I don't expect another season), but to be honest the ending almost felt a little weak to me... while most of the plotlines for each character are wrapped up nicely (I really liked Jin's story), their interpersonal relationship isn't resolved at all, and for all three to walk away from each other... it just seemed bittersweet. Of course, bittersweet is something the Japanese do really well... :D

The second volume of the US DVDs hits the street tomorrow, I expect I'll be picking that up. I really enjoyed the first DVD, the voice acting is pretty well done and at least on par with Bebop (which is to be expected). This next DVD should have episode 8, which is one of my favorites... I'm looking foward to seeing how they handle The Man On The Road To Big, MC Samurai!

Just found where to download the whole series, but I'll draw this out a bit I think. I don't want this to end too soon.

Yeah, but after 24's cliffhanger, I couldn't help but seek out 25 and 26 as soon as I could. I'm really looking forward to seeing this series on Adult Swim, so that more people will be enjoying it, and considering how incredible the latter episodes are, I can't help but want it all on DVD as well.

Even the silly-ass "baseball" episode (23), which I was dreading when I read the synopsis, ended up being pretty funny (even if it's full of subtle and not-so-subtle jabs at American cultural attitudes). Born 350 years later, Mugen would give McGuire something to really choke up about.

:D

Just finished ep24. I'm interested to see where the last two episodes take this. Don't tell me, but my guess is...

...the badass sword fighter at the docks is also her dad.

IT. Are you satisfied with the ending of this?
I recall the ending to Cowboy Bebop. Not all sunshine and happiness.

I liked the ending to Bebop... it was the way it had to be, really.

I like the ending to Champloo, but I think it's a bit weaker than the Bebop ending. Still really good, though, espescially the fights.

Love the Bebop ending as well. It was refreshing to see such an end to a great series. That would never happen here.

Finally saw the last two eps. Not sure if I'm satisfied with the ending or not. I'm glad the ending is open though. Leaves room for another romp in that universe. We'll see if they make good on it.

the ending was okay. it didnt have much conclusion in that since there never a villain to worry about cause they were introduced one episode before it ended. like there is usually a process of introducing a villain and show his skills. Viscious killed a bunch of ppl. The anton seven from outlaw star killed a bunch of ppl and then there is knives and legato and all those trigun bad guys. now we get this samurai who is supposedly better than them but u dont know wether to take his word for it or not. i do like some character build up for my villains. up to preference really. in respect i liked the ending still. a tad bit happier than the bebop one.

In honesty, i really prefer the Bebop ending. It's more realistic. It simply couldn't have ended happily and be any good. I would never have bought it.
