Does he think B.A.'s not BAD enough? Is he unABLE to do so? Does he secretly like the way that black outfit fits?

Hmm. Maybe this should've gone on the JSA forum. I dunno.

i've wondered about this kind of often myself. Why DOESN'T he just take Adam's powers away?

Could it have something to do with Black Adam getting his powers from different gods? I don't know, both are rather forgotten but the Egyptian gods are a lot more forgotten than the Greco/Roman gods.

Maybe Black Adam is too strong. He may only be able to take the powers of those weaker than him.

But if Captain Marvel could snatch the lightning out of Black Adam's arse, shouldn't the wizard be able to??

Captain Marvel should NOT be able to arbitrarily take the powers of any other Shazamers except for those with whom he shares (if that's still in)--and that should be when they say Shazam and their powers . . . return to wherever they go when not in use.

That's how I feel. That's why I started a thread about it on the JLA/JSA board.
They can't have it both ways... not the way I see it.
I swear I remember reading a Shazam comic when I was a small kid(Back in the 70's) and in it it states that Shazam can't remove the power from a person after he's given it to them. So rather than removing Adam's power he banished him to the far side of the galaxy and it took him 1,000's of years to return to Earth. Not sure if this was changed after the revamp in the 80's.

I remember that in JSA it was mentioned that Shazam could've remove teh power once imbued. And this time Black Adam was put in stasis, not thrown to the other end of the galaxy.

That would be in line with how divine gifts work. They cannot be removed once granted. They can be twisted (and sometimes darkly) but not taken back. This is from the myths and made it into the DCU with WONDER WOMAN's reboot.

About his great western stage coach! "Mr. Ford wouldn't the indians just shoot the stage coach horses?"
Ford, "They can't do that!"
Reporter, "Why not?"
Ford, "Because it would have been the end of the movie stupid!"

Forgive me if this has been changed or retconned, but I have been out of comics for 10 years, and am just getting back in.
In Power of SHAZAM, by Jerry Ordway, after fully possessing the thug that killed Billy's parents, BA says that the wizard did take his powers, but they are resident in the scarab necklace, whereas Captain Marvel's come from within. So I guess he took his powers on the sense of separating him from the necklace. He takes away the thug's voice at the end, so he can't say the magic either.
If you think about, the wizard took a big chance- his first guy went bad, but at least he had a way to stop him by taking the necklace. So he makes his second hero without the safety net.
I remember in the early issues of Power of Shazam!, Shazam got mad at Billy and took away Billy's ability to transform. I don't think that Shazam can take away Adam's powers while he's using them, but he could probably stop Theo Adam from transforming back into Black Adam (the trick is, though, they have to trick Black Adam into changing back into Theo which I don't think he does very often).

Maybe because he's not just, or totally evil. Take another look at his story from JSA. He's more along the lines of Magneto, then Lex Luthor. If Shazam were going to strip him of his power, he'd have done that in ancient Egypt. Instead, he gave him a cosmic "time-out." I think the old Wizard must have his reasons.

Well, he did brutally murder Billy's parents, or at least Sivana's henchman under his influence did.
I just ordered a bunch of JSA TPBs, so I guess I'll find out what the deal is with him.

People have complained about superman duking it out with the big red cheese all the time. Has the last son of krypton gone toe to toe with black adam?
PS black adam's suit way cooler than big red's!
