Somewhere in this drawing Titan Slade has hidden a beany doll.
You have to find it.

This beany doll is hidden much better than the Weapon X one :D .

I mean now how is tony gonna fit in tight Spots? I think it would have been cooler if that was warmachine instead.

I'm not crazy about Pat Lee, but i guess I'll try to look at some preview art before I decide to get it.

Oh yay. Another person that has to rip off anime designs in an attempt to look cool. You know, if you pushed him, he'd probably fall over and ot be able to get back up.

Keep in mind, this is not Iron Man's regular armor. This is the armor for a little alternate timeline jaunt. Likewise, Hulk is only going bald for a little bit, and Spidey's alternate costume is just in the mini. Unbunch the panties, folks.

amen brother. i think the suit looks tight as hell though it would probably take most artist forever and a day to draw it with all the detail that pat lee put in it but than again its not like iron man doesnt ship late already

I frankly don't care if it alternate timeline or not. I still think it looks ridicolous regardless of who it's supposed to be.

Excuse me, what does this mean?

That for the House of M tie-in for Iron Man instead of doing something interesting they're just going to swipe anime mecha designs (possibly even swipe stories from mecha anime), which is to say they'll work on something suited to the abilities of Pat Lee.

Well using an anime-style design for this character makes sense to me, and it doesn't mean that the whole thing's going that way. It's just a fashion.

Im one of the people who can appreciate Pat's art on certain things, but that thing is horrid. Its Iron Man meets Megatron, and its not a good marriage if you ask me. Thank god this will only last a few issues... issues I wont be buying anyway.

Actually thats a marriage of Iron Man and a Gundam. Looks a lot like a mech out of Zone of Enders tho, in the end. Looks cool, I like it. Not what I want out of Iron Man all the time though. Ultimate Iron Man is already fairly manga inspired.

There is nothing wrong with someone in western comics developing and using a manga or anime style, if thats what they like, and like to draw. Saying that someone can't draw that way cause it's "Japanese only" is retarded, there is no law about art like that.

Anime and Manga uses decompressed storytelling a lot, and writers such as Warren Ellis got this style from manga. "Widescreen action" has it's roots in manga as well. Are we not allowed to use those either?

It's not like all japanese artists use the traditional manga style, many infact draw like westerners.

Take yer issue with Lee's talent and whether you actually like it or not, not whether he uses an asian style or not (since technically, he is asian :D )
Like it or not, it ain't easy to draw stuff like that.

Actually the prob isnt westerners using a manga style or asians using us or euro style .
But people from either side doing a mockery of it (what i'd call the poor's manga) , shamelessly copying , and not for parody purpose (so for fun) .

There is quite a difference between a Joe Madureira having manga inspiration and style , and someone like liefeld ripping off a masamune shirow mecha in all its details (and of course failing to achieve beauty :D ) .

If someone actually has a decent manga inspired style and can work with it, that's all fine and dandy, however it has it's time and place, as does every style.

I wouldn't want Sam Keith trying to do Gundam anymore than I'd want Koshi Rikdo doing Punisher.

Besides, Ironman has shown no Japanese stylistic influence in his designs before. Giving him a manga style battle armor doesn't fit.

Oh I completely agree.

But that isn't what Pat Lee is really doing here. I'm sure Marvel asked him to give Iron Man a manga/mecha look for this little alternate reality mini-series. Nothing wrong with that kind of reinterpretation. It's fun. Not permanent.

i don't think it looks too bad, i kinda like it as an "Iron Man fights a VERY big and powerful monster* mission or something like that, and i like Pat Lee's art too, so i'm indifferent
