Please keep my stepmom in your prayers. Her father passed away early this morning (Monday). I'm not sure of the cause, but I think it was cancer. The funeral is Wednesday at 2, and she asked me to play piano for it. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to meet him this side of Heaven, which is a real shame; I'm told he was a musician, and quite a good one at that.
Thanks.

You're making the right kind of request Figaro.
She'll be in my prayers.

Thanks. I just got back. The service went very well, despite the fact that 1) the piano was a bit out of tune; 2) something inside the piano made an EXTREMELY irritating rattling sound; and 3) the piano was BEHIND the casket, meaning that my view was completely blocked by floral arrangements, meaning that I had to literally stand up to see whether or not the family had finished proceeding into the chapel. I learned something else about the deceased; he was a Marine veteran. So there was a military burial, the first time I've ever actually witnessed one in person. And I tell you, NOTHING prepares you for the moment when they fire off those shots. After that, AMVETS hosted a very nice reception. So it was sad, but everyone felt better in the end.
