I have question to see if anyone can answer. If you post some of your work on the internet is it copyright or can anyone steal the idea ? Does anyone have the answer or somewhere that I can find that answer?

The reason I am asking is that I am seriously thinking about uploading my work and I am cautious cause I don't want the story or the characters taken from me.

thanks for you input

You don't have to have it. But it helps.

You can copyright website contents with the US Copyright Office.
