I have no problem with the idea of a law that bans the sale of M rated games to minors, kids under 17 shouldn't be able to get their hands on M-rated games in the first place.
The article linked above makes no mention of game ratings though, mentioning only the banning the sale to minors of games depicting explicit sexual behavior and "human on human violence".
Representative Robert Molaro (probably unintentionally) shows this up for the stupidity it is when he asks, "Does that mean games that merely blast space creatures are OK?"
Apparently killing an alien doesn't fall under the bill, even if it looks like a human, unless it's pretending to be a human and the player has no way of knowing it's an alien.
