The back cover gives it away, but the androgynous bishie-type on the cover of this book isn't a boy. It's a girl. A girl with the exotic, strange sort of beauty that aides her in her missions as a secret agent part of an independant organization dedicated to World Peace.
Been there, done that, have the ten-zillion other movies, tv shows and books featuring it, right?
But this book is _good_.
It works its hooks into the reader by offering what seems to be a stereotype...then yanking the rug away.
Tightly paced, well drawn, and intelligently written.
CMX may be getting a lot more of my money in the future if this is the sort of manga they're bringing over.
Not a normal "girl spy cheesecake" comic, nor the expected tired "OH! Gender-bending thrills and mishaps!" stuff.
Worth checking out.
