Alright I really like Spider-Man and his comics so I decided to start up a trivia about him. So i'll start. How many tons is Spider-Man capable of lifting :D

Cody H

Cody H

That's one for Abomination. Though we don't actually get to see her face until #42 with the now infamous, "Face it tiger, you just hit the jackpot" line.

History shows, again and again, how nature points out the folly of men...
GODZILLA!
Kaiju is Japanese for 'big honkin' monster', Tojo was the studio that created Gojiro, aka Godzilla. Hey, SHIELD was a recurring fixture in Marvel's Godzilla comic book, why not?

But he made a Blue Oyster Cult reference. So he should get some points for that!

Ok, when did they ever battle?According to Spiderfan.org (http://http://www.spiderfan.org/comics/title/godzilla.html), Spider-Man made a cameo appearance in Godzilla, King of the Monsters #24. So they were at least in the same book.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

For the first part of the question, I'm going with Jean DeWolffe. I know Misty Knight was introduced in one of the early issues (#1?), but I don't know if she's dead or not, and I never considered her a Spidey supporting character.

As for the second part, I've got no idea.

Okay, my answer regarding MJ playing Linda Carter was a wild guess. She did star in a soap opera once though...

But I looked a few things up(mainly to find out who or what Linda Carter is) and I think I know the answer. John Romita Sr. got his start in the industry as a penciler for romance titles(from what I read a while ago in Mad Goblin's www.spideykicksbutt.com (http://www.spideykicksbutt.com%29)). He brought his romance artist sensibilities with him when assigned to write Spider-Man; Peter became more handsome, Gwen(whom Steve Ditko drew as more angular) became prettier, and of course when he finally showed us the face of The Jackpot(aka MJ). So the answer is, JR Sr did both books.

Good researchin'.

But no. :)

Romita Sr, though he *started* at Marvel, did mostly do romance titles, and eventually *returned* to Marvel to do Daredevil and Spider-man, wasn't (as far as I know) actually doing any work for Marvel in the early sixties. Marvel was going through some tough times, financially, and JrSr. said Stan simply didn't have any work for him.

According to Don Markstein's http://www.toonopedia.com/nightnrs.htm the book was drawn by Archie artist Al Hartley. And written by Stan Lee, but no points for that 'cause Stan Lee wrote everything.

Still, worth a hint. Let me rephrase the question:

And a toughie... Explain the relevance of *the cancellation of* "Linda Carter, Student Nurse" to Spider-man publishing history.

This is Wizard's list:

10. Scorpian
9. Mysterio
8. Electro
7. Carnage
5. Sandman
4. Hobgoblin
3. Dr. Octopus
2. Venom
1. Green Goblin

Your first answer is right.

Pete put a ring in a box of Cracker Jack the first time he proposed to MJ. ASM 185 I think.

Linda Carter got cancelled in Jan. 1963 to make way for the ASM title.

The comic that was cancelled to make room for Spidey was Linda Carter, Student Nurse.

If that's the right answer, the irony is that the answer was on the forum.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Very well done. Back in the early sixties, Marvel (or, technically, the comic arm orGoodman Publications Group) had fallen on some tough financial times, and were forced to do all their distribution through National Periodical Publications... Later DC. And, for contractual reasons, they could only publish eight titles at a time. So, after the huge success of Amazing Fantasy # 15, poor Linda got the axe.

Strangely enough, I'd never read that thread, despite the fact that I try to read everything that goes on in Classic Comics.
