I was looking through my user CP, and it says under referrals "1". Can anybody fill me in on what exactly this is?

When a new member signs up, there is a place where they can type a name of a existing member who told them about CBR. This counts as a referral.

okay, thanks Brandon, I would think maybe even like recognition on the boards or something, but maybe it's part of the vbulletin program or something. :)

Unfortunately, if we did some official recognition scene then we'd have the result of people signing themselves up multiple accounts and referring using their own names.
Yes, it would be a rather lame thing to do but that wouldn't stop people from doing it.
