Hands OFF! Characters you would like to survive House of M

It's seems a given that there's going to be some dying this summer, so I thought a pre-emptive notice should be given. Because someone's favourite character is going to die, so let your voices be heard before the axe falls.

Personally I'm afraid Moon Knight will kick it. I've always had a soft spot for the character and was saddened to seem him commonly referred to as a Batman knock-off, with little further development.

Cloak is another second or third division I would hope would survive. Despite the frankly bizaare origins I always thought his powers were strangely interesting and his character needed exposure on a bigger stage. His cameo with Dagger in 'Runaways', was quite fun. (I haven't even seen him in the promo art, but Dagger's there, so it's a safe bet).

Forge, the idea of super-intelligent mutants seems to be limiting for some writers, but Fabian's description of Forge looking at a piece of Nimrod tech and then suddenly intuiting its design in X-Force was nicely done. More of that would be appreciated.

I think Moon Knight is safe. After that article in Wizard a couple months back with all those creators talking about how much they like the character, I imagine Marvel wouldn't off him. I'm actually surprised he hasn't gotten some sort of announcement of a new series since then.

What would be suprising is if Marvel decided to kill someone "major" and let someone else take up the mantel. Yes, DC did much the same with The Flash, so i don't expect it, but I would prefer a legacy over the eventual ressurection.

I don't want them to kill anyone, unless it's for a really damn good reason. Is this what this mini-series is about? Mor pointless Avengers: Dissasebled-esque crap? I kind of had a feeling it would be Marvel's attempt to No-Prize itslef by explaining all the contradictary crap that's taken place in the last 2 or 3 years. You don't need to kill anyone to do that (well, maybe Magneto). They should definitely not kill of ahyone that is appearing regularly in a monthly title, because it just wouldn't be fair to the other writers.

Wolverine doesn't need to die, he just really really needs to be scaled back these days. I really like Wolverine and all, but too much of a good thing can leave an upset tummy. He should be only in his own title and one team book. That's it. I also think he should go to the Bahamas and have a vacation for being so busy over the last several years.

As for Gambit, why would any of you want to see Gambit die? Gambit has got to be one of the most underused characters ever. For the longest time until he got his own title, he was almost the Metamorpho of Marvel comics... you rarely, if ever, saw the guy. Not to mention that he's just downright cool when he finally does see action.

I don't think anyone should die this summer, hell... they just killed a bunch of guys last summer and got mixed reviews to boot. Unless they want summer to be considered the "death season" and make everyone cynical towards it, Marvel should think twice about killing anyone in House of M.

Modern comics art not for kids, we all know this. But killing a character(s) for the sake of killing them is stupid and should not be done, we have evidence in Dissasembled of this, those death meant nothing. So much more could have been done and Bendis did not have to kill anyone, (OK Vision I would have allowed, he can be rebuilt).

So many deths have been stupid over the years, and if this is going to just be an excuse for Bendis to kill a loads of characters he does not like, that's not a good thing. None of these characters (that are involved in it) are nobodies. They are all known, nearly all of them have had their own series. I can't see any real good reason why any of these characters should die and I really don't think anyone else does.

Why he can't kill any one of the numerous stupid single appearence characters or the crappy character that have not appeared for 25 years, I don't know. I could look down the masterlist at www.marvunapp.com and pick a few hundred characters that I don't think anyone would mind dieing (mainly becuase no-one knows them). Yes I suppose you could argue that given time they will appear again, (or maybe appear in Exiles for the time being), but it seems to me that Bendis may kill people just to sell the book. Bendis can write well, we've seen it (read it) in many different styles of books. Then Why does he have kill anyone to sell this or make it good? He doesn't.

I am hoping that I am correct and that with Disassembled out of the way and everyone suppecting Bendis will kill a load of characters, he'll go the other way, resurrect a few or something and not kill anyone. I mean we are talking about a Reality changing mutant here. This can be changed.

I wish that everyone would stop bitching about Frank. He's been moved to MAX territory and will probably stay there as long as Ennis or another quality writer is around to keep him there. MAX means no contact with the rest of the MU, or at least is has so far.

One thing I think Bendis can do well is use little known characters and reinvent them. Generally they will tend to be characters that have been under utilized or simply badly written, though for some reason he finds them interesting (I think it may be just a generally nostalgia for the seventies on his behalf). If anything I think it less likely that he would kill off these potentially more interesting properties, because he can retool them to his own designs. More popular characters who have not ever been fully realized and retconned to a ridiculous degree by a series of overly egotistic writers (say hello John Byrne....) - they're dead meat!

Emma Frost, who really needs a codename. Sure she sort of had the white queen but that was more title than anything. And i dont want another 90s jean grey situation.

Cyclops. Not so much that i hate his character, but i wouldnt mind he getting offed. Same with emma. Seriously though look at him and sentry. Sentry is at attention, cyclops is at ease. Funny stuff.

Wonderman. Wonderboy is so much cooler.

Captain america. I actually want him to die and be replaced with a new captain america.

Xavier. Ive been wanting him dead for a loooooong time.

The lady behind Cannonball who i have no idea who is.

Those that shall live; Black Cat, Nightcrawler, Wasp(?), Luke Cage, Kitty, Cannonball and oddly spiderwoman whom i was sure i was going to hate.

Dont touch; Forge, Mystique, Beast, Ms Marvel, Spidey (although please touch his wife with as much evil and sadistic things you can think of bendis, hell even put her in a refridgerator, ill let it slide)

But quite frankly you can kill them all if you leave Magneto alone. Save probably kitty spidey and beast. i would have to think about that.
