View Full Version : Lions, Tigers and Bears #2
Another top-notch book. The art was absolutely breathtaking! Well done Mr. Bullock and Mr. Lawrence. Can't wait for the next issue.

I LOVED this issue. Great look at the Pride, and I loved the interaction at the Castle. Nice twist in there as well.

This came out?
AAAAAAAUGH!
No comic book shop in my entire area had a copy left-over when I got off of work, then.

Ares' iconic grin when Joey tells him that he kind of resembles a superhero is PRICELESS, as is the 'Tiger-Man Express' scene that follows.

It's good, but I was a bit concerned about some of the expository dialogue, seems a bit advanced for some children to read. (keeping in mind that I'm looking at this book as a good one for kids)

I'll be giving this mini to my seven-year-old nephew once it's completed. I was looking at the language too, but I don't think he'll have trouble with it. If he does, that's what moms and dads are for.

My nine year old didn't have any problems reading it.
I would think it would be tough for a seven year old to read though. Seven year olds are just starting to read, and their reading skills and comprehension is all over the map. It would be pretty difficult to write an all-ages book for a seven year old demographic (IMO). Hence the genius that is Dr. Seuss.
My family loves this series. Just this morning my 12 year old daughter asked me to check what date the next issue comes out. My kids are counting the days (me too!). :D

True, most seven-year-olds would have trouble with it, but Sam is already reading at a fourth-grade level. And writing at third-grade. He just kind of picked it up very quickly.

Loved it enough to send us some Home Run Pies?

You can still get a copy from an online retailer, I think. Try Mycomicshop.com, Silver Bullet Comics or Midtown.

That was sooo much fun to write and even more enjoyable when Jack sent me the artwork.

Stealthwise, Winslow & Necktie: I wouldn't worry. I had a 5-year old explain it back to me at WWLA, as well as ask questions about some of the 'Easter eggs' we planted (I asked him if he was going to get married someday and he made the same face Joey did in #2... it was priceless!). The simple fact is, kids aren't stupid, they pick up on a lot more than most adults realize. Not to mention, as Necktie said, if they have trouble, creating something that has kids turn to their parents for help is never a bad thing. :)
#2 is officially sold out and rumor has it #3 will sell out before it even ships, so make sure you tell your retailer to reserve you a copy of #3 and #4.
Thanks for all the kind words and support, folks, we couldn't do it without you. :D

Finally got a copy of this. I liked it a lot.
Bit confused about what time period it's supposed to be taking place in now. (Is "The Great War" a reference to World War I or World War II?).
Ares' lines and expressions sold the issue for me. :)

I read my copy yesterday.
I'm officially ticked off now.
I want more than 4 issues of LT&B!
This is fanfreakingtastic.
I love the reaction when Joey was told the little girl was his future wife. PRICELESS!
It's early in the year so far, but this series is on my list for Best Miniseries in the CBR Corrie Awards.
