Can anyone tell me if there are any other collections of Sam and Max besides "Sam and Max: Surfin' The Highway"? Sam and Max is screamingly funny and I want everything.

Are the old comics available anywhere?
Many of the older comics were available in the book "The Collected Sam & Max: Surfin' the Highway" by Marlowe & Sons Publishers. It was available here From Amazon.com, but the book is currently out of print! Your best chance is honestly to go to your local comic book store and try and find old copies of the collection, or any of the original single comics listed in the Comicography. You might also want to try Ebay.
Since the printing of the Marlowe & Sons collection, there have been some newer shorts involving Sam & Max. Most of them may be found here, on the comic shorts section of this site.
What's happening with the comics? Why haven't there been any new ones?
I honestly can't answer that one with any real accuracy. Steve Purcell has been busy working full time at Pixar, as well as working on Sam & Max Freelance Police at LucasArts before it was cancelled, and is now a father of two, so he probably hasn't been rolling in time to make a new comic. That said, there is definitely a new full length comic in the works, however when it's coming out is completely unknown.

OMG I loved the Sam & Max game, played it all the way through back in the day. Then there was that great cartoon they had for a while. Now I find out there was a comic! Woo Hoo.

Not "there was a comic"
It was ORIGINALY a Comic, adapted to a fantastic Lucasart Adventure game, and latter to a season or two of the cartoon.
Steve Purcell is the creator and owner of Sam and Max and the Surfin' the Highway TPB is a riot. The world needs more Sam and Max.
Telltale games is rumored to be picking up the Sam and Max liecence from Lucasarts and finishing Freelance Police. After they finish the Bone Adventure Game they're working on.

I couldn't agree more!! Purcell has an unparalleled genius for wackiness and the gags in the Sam and Max comic leave me rolling on the floor.
