I'm new to The Authority and the wildstorm universe in general. I've heard about this villain and he sounds nasty but interesting. Can anyone please tell me about him? I would also be gratefull for the names of the Authority tradebacks he appears in.

If you like the authority, you'll despise the $6bn Bastard. The trades where he appeared in were probably the worst authority trades ever. In any case, if you absolutely must commit comic book hara kiri, he appears in the Transfer of Power trade.

Because his encounter with The Authority makes them out to be third rate idiots.

Oh, it was a good idea, but the execution was so ham-handed (nuclear radioactive poop?) that I found it painful to read.
Making the Authority stupid ponces is one thing (like in Kev and More Kev) but this was just.... well, there are no words.

I gave up on this title soon after Ellis left.

I liked him. I really liked to see the Authority put down. And to be put down by
a over-the-top buttwipe like that was even sweeter. I even enjoyed the Tom
Peyer story with the replacement Authority.
It doesn't top Ellis's stuff or Millar's first arc but quite good none the less.

I just loved the fact that Art Adams did the book during this period. I didn't mind the replacement team or Redneck Bastard Boy. I will admit that he was WAY to over the top and could be annoying at times. The concept was fun though. :D

I loved him! 3 Willie Seth was his name and he talked more trash than a landfill. Here are some spoilers below of what I recall:
A conglomerate of nations (including the Clinton Admin.) got together to fund the project that created him because of previous Authority meddling.
He surprised the group by traveling inside the pizza delivery girl!
And then kicked the crud out of both Apollo & Midnighter.
Took out the winged girl with the poop shot.
One of the guys tried transporting an F-16 inside the HQ in mid-flight to take him out!
He was ugly as hell. The cyborg villain from the Lee/Azzarello Superman run favors him a lot.
I say go get it!

Nothing Millar did topped his first arc, because all they ever did after that was talk about what they did in the first arc -specifically the first half of the first issue.
They get involved in politics once, then spent the rest of the run talking about how different and outrageous they were doing it, how new and unique they were - and then spent the rest of the run fighting supervillains like everybody else - though slightly more extreme ones.
At least Ellis knew that all he'd done was raise the stakes and the action - not re-invented the wheel, like Millar seemed to act like he'd done.

Yup, and that to me is kinda why he was a pretty poor supervillain.
Especially as he was in Millar's final arc.
Ellis had them take on god in his, Millar has them fight a redneck - complete with toilet humour and rednecks having sex with chickens.
Huzzah.
(of course this is probably a step up from when every character revealed they were once gay, everybody slept with each other, and then had an orgy with counterparts from a different dimension, a dimension where every one in the WU who is male is female and vice versa.
It felt like you were reading a porno fan-fic, and left one feeling just as dirty.)

And as reward for taking The Authority out they were gonna give him a room filled with underaged girls to do with as he pleased.

I forgot about that.
Ignore my above post, the entire storyline was a worthwile affair afterall.
(anyone gonna do a "It's kinda realistic then, it was started by the Clinton administration afterall" joke?)
Did anyone see from a LITG column from around the time, the art and story elements that were made from Millar's orignal story?
Instead of the threesome the leader of the "evil" Authority is about to have at one stage (the script makes a reference of him having Brittney spears lookalikes in his room, and in the corner of the panel you see two girls in nurses uniforms), the orignal panel actually showed the corpse of a girl in a nurse uniform handcuffed to the bed.

So you never got to see Swift have sex with Grunge?
Or Jack Hawksmoor have sex with Grifter?
Or The Engineer have sex with The Doctor, while the toddler Jenny Quantum looks on?

It wasn't the complete retcon of Shen and Jenny's past so we could have them in bed together?

This sounds....bad. Though I still might buy the comics were they fight the evil marvel copies.
And the SBB kills them? And who is in the replacement Authority?
Chris Thomas

the sbdb is actually named 'seth.'
the authority is replaced by a washed-out copy--a doctor who steals the doctors powers, a brit soccer punk with electric powers, a dude named 'street' who makes buildings attack, a singer who flys, a race car driver who has battle enhancements and person who takes the nanobots and uses them like the engineer.
basically, just like the authority but they all understand that they are there 'by the grace' of the cabal of evil billionaires and generals. they are all considerably weaker than the authority--either because they use cheaper technology or they don't understand the full capability of the technology they took.
***
SPOILERS:
seth doesn't really kill them--just takes them down, then allow the billionaires to play some cruel tricks on them. midnighter basically saves the day (as does jenny quantum in the end.) the bad guys all get 'what's coming'
I actually enjoyed it--but I read it as a trade (no waiting) and I really liked the art (quitely and someone else..)

Wildcats. Everything from Alan Moore's run to 3.0.
I've heard good things about James Robinson's run too, but I've never read it.

Oh yeah, that was one of the kings of comic art in my eyes. Art Adams!
Only thing that killed me was that craptastic artist in the final issue. It just didn't meld well with the other artists.

Ellis did leave a thing of beauty, and millar shoved it into the toilette and flushed....

I don't think Clinton's admin started it, after all the code word to stop him was "Al Gore you're the president", they made that the code word because they never expected it to be uttered in regular conversations.

It was Clinton who Hawksmoor told to back off though.
I'll go for a no-prize though, as the cabal who created Seth was 32 levels above the president or somthing ridiculous like that, they already knew who was going to be in charge next and there was no way it was gonna be Gore (works with the whole real-world election rigging).
Take it further and it was the secret society in Sleeper who had decided who would be the next president.
We'll say Clinton was in so that there chosen leader had somthing to blame everything on, so that people didn't rebel too much as they pushed their agendas as aggresivly as possible.
(or you could say the cabal is left-wing and that Bush is here to piss everyone else so that next leader they can push their own agenda as aggresivly as they want).

Actually, they were Jenny Sparks lookalikes. So guess what he was originally supposed to perform necrophilia on. There's over-the-top gross, and then there's too gross to print.

And then there's just cheap.
First he makes her a well slutty bisexual (which had never been hinted to before - and on the slutty side, there's having some sex, and then there's a threesome with two old mem), then he lets them screw her corpse....
If you wanna tear somthing down, you've at least gotta have somthing better waiting on the other side, millar had nothing.
