How would you have cast DC characters within the premise of Marvel's 1602 series by Neil Gaiman?

A DC 1602 would be very different considering many of it's big names who would be involved have Alien origins which would be awkward to put in the 1602 setting.

But common sense would put the Big Names in the JLA in Europe in 1602, with the Flash as the forerunner. With cameos by 1602 versions of JSA big names.

A few ideas spring to mind.

Clark of Kent, found in a field and raised by monks in secret, thinking his powers were a gift from god and having no idea of his origins.

Wayne Bruce a wandering knight facing the evil men do. With a young squire who is very acrobatic and has a fondess for robins.

Diana, the templar weapon disguised as a nun on a pilgrimage.

Katar Hol, a warrior from Egypt dressed in armor made to look like a hawk, accompanying Diana to Europe.

Alexander Luther, a rich baron with heavy influence over the kings of Europe.

Ra's Al Ghul, a king from the east who formed an alliance with Alexander Luther.

Vandal Savage, posing as the king of scotland, plotting to kill the queen and gain power.

The Joker, a crazed man dressed as a clown, hired to assassinate the queen of England.

The thing about DC is that it's heros are simply much more powerful on average than Marvel characters. 1602 works when your main characters can shoot eye beams or have claws and a healing factor, but when you toss in Superman power-levels into a pre-industrial age world his power just becomes ridiculous. Same with Flash (Quicksilver was fast in 1602 but not even close to Flash-fast) or Green Lantern or pretty much any other superpowered hero.

I suggest JLA: Riddle of the Beast. Very similar to 1602 in tone, albeit in a fantasy setting instead of 17th century.

I would have Wonder Woman be the time anomaly, ending up without memory in the New World, where she becomes a Sacajewea - Pocahontas style native american warrior woman to protect Virginia Dare.

I'd have Superman and the Phantom Stranger as "witchbreed", both being burnt for being Jews, with the Inquisition finding out that they can't be burned.

Well Spider Man would have been rediculously powerful in 1602, but it was solved by him not having been bitten by the spider yet. Maybe Green Lantern is Hal of Jordan who happens to have a predilection for the color green and carrys a regular lantern everywhere.
