View Full Version : Classic Gurus, Please Help!
The Punisher's first appearance was in 1974 in Amazing Spider-Man. I seem to remember there being a magazine size limited series in the mid-late seventies starring him (possibly called the Punisher). I used to own the first issue, and can only remember that the cover of #1 had like a picture of him running from an explosion or something with a gun in his hand. I have looked on line but can't find anything on it. Does anyone know what I am talking about?
Thanks

There was one issue of MARVEL PREVIEW (#2) which was a black-and-white, magazine-format book, that featured the PUNISHER. This came out in 1975. It is fairly hard to find, particularly in good condition.
The cover is shown at the link below.

Would that be the one?

His early mag appearances were in:
Marvel Preview #2 (http://www.comics.org/details.lasso?id=28258)
and
Marvel Super Action #1 (http://www.comics.org/details.lasso?id=29475)
There may be some others.
EDIT - I see that JWK was the quicker draw.

Wow. I'd never seen or heard of that one. Live and learn.
Bet that is the one Huh is talking about. A #1, and the explosion in the background.

I've wanted Marvel Preview 2 for 30 years now. When I first saw it on the shelves it was in a store in a rough neighborhood that woulda hounded me all the way home for buying a funny book, esp. without a big enough bag to fit (hide) it in. :o
Saw it again 6 months ago but got scooped before I could get it and then spotted it 3 weeks ago for $20.00 and couldn't believe it. Even more unbelievable is that I actually walked out and completely forgot about getting it.
