View Full Version : Toy Question

As a Big Dork, I was recently in Target and noticed the Hasbro has updated the old Combiner Transformers, and I had to have one (which I now do). My question is this, to all you closet YABS toy collectors out there: can I buy, say, a Constructicon foot and put it on an Aerialbot torso? Does anyone know?

Is this totally the wrong place to ask this question?

You can and people have.

ALSO... one disappointing but potentially cool thing about the combiners is that ANY of the $6 figures can be used as hands OR feet. In fact, there are only two molds for the smaller toys, each with two paintjobs.

So if you want an all-green Devestator, just buy two of the green arms and two of the green legs. The legs can be transformed into arms and vice-versa.

I THINK Hasbro's big convention exclusive figure this year is going to be a combiner that uses repainted pieces from the various new sets. My bet is that it will be Defensor or Computron.

Computron would make me very happy (and broke, too!). Thanks for the help!

BTW, if anyone would like a link to a site with really great photos of Transformers, here it is. http://tfkenkon.com/collection/act300/

I can't help but think that these are shot astonishingly like porn pics (soft focus, painstaking detail to every part of the process), but hey, people have had weirder kinks.

My question is this, to all you closet YABS toy collectors out there: can I buy, say, a Constructicon foot and put it on an Aerialbot torso? Are you talking about Gen1 gestalts or Energon gestalts? Gen1 Constructicons, I'm fairly sure, will not combing with Gen1 Arielbots; the Arielbots -- like Protectobots, Terrocons, Stunticons, Technobots, and Combaticons -- were Scramble City models. All of those were interchangeable. The Constructicons were a different style, six equally sized bots as opposed to four equally sized bots and a larger center.

I'm not sure about the Energon ones. I know that Devastator and Superion use interchangeable bots -- two molds for four bots for four limbs -- but I'm not sure if you can, say, use SkyShadow in place of Dustcloud. (The only two names I can recall.)

Or were you asking something else?

And the new Constructicons appear to use the Scramble City 2.0 connectors as well, so we can finally make that Devastator/Superion hybrid.

Hooray! Toys!

You can indeed mix and match, as long as you remember that the accessories are what make the hands and feet. I got one of each of the four limb figures (A-10 jet, the other jet, helicopter, and tank) and both the bigger torso figures. Of the two, I think Barrage (the missile truck) makes a better body than Storm Jet, although both are pretty cool.

Barrage is the one I bought; I'm going to try to find the A-10 and one of the helicopters this afternoon (aren't Transformers wonderful?).

I don't have any of the center figures yet [ie-StormJet, SteamHammer,Barricade], but the limbs I have [the 1st 2 of Superion and 2 of Devastator] have identical plugin points.

Also, if you want to have 4 different limbs, the 2 extra decepticon molds for Bruticus/Barricade's combiner [Helicopter/Tank] should mix well with Devastator's 2.
