Hey All,

With Hal dead and in purgatory Parallax would have been kept out of earthly planes of existance. By the Spectre using Hal, and it seems for the reason of excising Parallax at this point, did he actually cause Parallax to gain freedom?

The Spectre bonded with Hal in order to free his soul of Parallax. Or else a man like Hal would have been stuck in Purgatory. The plan was to get rid of Parallax and save Hal's soul.

It didn't quite happen like that, though. Parallax proved stronger than anticipated.

There's also the possibility that Parallax could have spread throughout Purgatory, which would have caused even more problems for the afterlife.

I dunno, it seems like the Spectre created all of the problems happening now. Very interesting. It would have been cool to learn more about the Spectre's motives though.

do you mean that parallax was a separate entitiy in itself. its not really hall's new persona right after he entered the battery of power?
