I was working on a parody where several comic conventions accidentally book the same venue and they begin to overlap, meaning Image fans mix with Marvel, DC with Dark Horse etc. The resultant clash of views on how exactly woman's breasts should be drawn and whether neon coloured costumes are a good thing begins to cause conflict and confusion and chaos. The conventions begin to fray around the boundaries until noone can remember which imprint Captain Atom belongs to, CGC grades are .2 off correct value and so forth. The overlapping conventions must somehow be resolved into one harmonious whole before things get out of hand and the crowd realises that there's not really any point to grading comics and putting on silly costumes while getting signatures from C-list industry figures and CONVENTIONS CEASE TO EXIST.
The mystical all-knowing Alan Moore appears to save the day and lead the way to sanity, with a brave band of comic luminaries at his side to do what must be done and calm the baying fans. But can Jeff Smith and Dave Sim stop fighting long enough to work together? Is Dick Ayers too old to fight the good fight? Will Warren Ellis and Gail Simone be able to keept their eyes on the mission and off of each other? Will Frank Cho be slapped? Who is the mystery villain? Rob Liefeild, Mark Alessi, Howard Mackie or someone else entirely?

Any good? Should I bother?

You had me until the creators came into it. I think personal opinions of the creators would distract from the story and keep it from being timeless.

You may have something Clear. My original draft of the story had no creators and just focussed on nameless fans and shop owners angling for control, because I thought by bringing Bendis or whoever into it I'd be covering lame and familiar territory. But I kept on thinking up great creator based jokes and I was sad to leave them all on the cutting room floor, plus I felt I could parody the various super-groups from alternate worlds that appeared in the real Crisis by having groups of creators representing labels.
Redrafting it again though, I can see that while their are some laughs in my Allan Moore as The Monitor and Warren Ellis as Pariah routine, it's not as charming or coherent as my fans based one was. I think a compromise might be to return to the fan's story and just make reference to the best jokes from the clash of the creators- like it's going on behind the scenes but it won't at any point take over the whole show.

That sounds really hilarious. :) I bet you could get it published. As much as we all love Kinko-zines, it would be even better if you found a publisher to give it the special treatment.
