Just wondering if there is much of an audience out there there for the current incarnation of the G.I. Joe franchise. I loved the Marvel run and have recently been filling my collection with the Devil's Due run. Personally I have thoroughly enjoyed it (with a few exceptions). I'm relativley new to these boards and was just wondering if there are other people on here who enjoy these books as I do.

I'm reading it. I love the series, they've done a great job turning out a series well worth reading.

The revamp coming looks like it could be good, but it appears they are going to be killing off some of the mainstays before the start of the new series.

The revamp definately looks good (from what I have seen and heard). Although, I really do hope that they will not kill off mainstays simply for shock value.

I started on the Image/DDP books late, but I have everything new so far. The stories can be good, average, or just full of plot holes that an aircraft carrier could sail through.

I don't have my older Marvel books, but the ones that I did have growing up were great to read.

When DDP does their lame attempt at getting more sales (renumbering gimmick), I will drop their books. But I'll still buy the 'Army of Darkness' titles that DDP will release.

The last issue's letter column made it seem like a death would shake Snake Eyes to the core.

To be perfectly honest, the renumbering 'gimmick' doesn't really bother me all that much. I love the book and with sales dropping lately I would much rather DDP try this revamp than scrap the book entirely.

But I do agree with you about 'Army of Darkness', quality books....and god do I love Bruce Campbell!

The new Joe book is alright.

My only complaint is the art. I just don't like Seely's pencils at all.

I don't keep up with sales that much, but it seems like a lot of the excitement surrounding the Joe franchise has cooled off in the last year or so.

Of course, the entire 80's nostalgia phase is over so I guess it speaks to the strength of the Joe franchise that it's still here at all.

I hope the reboot with a new creative team gets people pumped again.

Hell, I already lost Transformers... if I lose GI Joe too, I'll be one pissed off child of the 80's. ;)

Same here. There's always going to be some stories I'm not particularly pleased with, but I'm generally happy with the way Devil's Due handles the G.I. Joe franchise. My favorite villains have always been Cobra Commander and Serpentor, so it was great seeing them face off a while ago.

I'm slightly irritated with the upcoming renumbering of the title. While I understand a reboot is necessary for a revival in the series, I always like high issue numbers. Regardless, I'm sticking around.

I have been searching for a forum about the JOE’s new comic. I really dig DDP’s incarnation of the GI Joe. The reloaded issues are all right, and I don’t necessarily like the art work for the M&A runs but the core line itself is good

Has anyone seen the TPBs of the 80s Marvel GI Joe line? I got Volumes 1 -3 and it seemed implied that there would be a 4 and 5 but I’ve never seen them and the TRBs came out in 2001 I think

Marvel did put out vol. 4-5. I have them; I'm not sure if they're still in print, though.

I have really enjoyed the DD series, but I think as it's gone along, it fell into the same trap as the Marvel series - too many characters. The decision to focus on a core cast is imo a very good one.
