Looks good, but Sue Storm on the cover must've had some terrible accident to warp her spine like that. :)

I agree with that, Dox.
Guess this isn't your father's Captain Mar-vell...nor Peter David's Mar-vell...nor Stan Lee... nor...oh forget it!

Looks AWESOME!! Now if the story is good I'll be dropping all my MU regular
titles and just pick up UU titles.

This is looking fan-damn-tastic. I'm glad that Marvel are kinda limiting the expansion of the UU to minis, it means they don't flood the market and kill off what is a really cool idea straight away. Mar-Vell looks spot on, I'm hopin we get tosee a look at Ultimate Galactus in this mini as well, though I'm betting they hold that one off til the third and final installment.

Have to say I love the new design for Mar-vell. I've been waiting for this one for a while now. Hope it lives up to the quality that I've come to expect from the Ultimate series.

I love how Ellis has reworked Kree armour as been techno-organic. It's a good look. How many sleeper Kree are there on Earth now - and what will the Carol Danvers connection be this time?
Also the other nice thing about the Ultimate univers - no Rick Jones. No forced teen sidekick for every other character so that audiences can relate. Come on that kid knew everybody! (which is why the biog bits in Alias are so funny).

I hope so.
This doesn't effect Noh-Varr, does it?

Do the book Surpreme Powers share the same UU as the others?

Nope. Supreme Power is set in its own universe, seperate from all other comic universes.

Well not now, but there was a rumour there for a while that 'Marvel Boy', might have been the secret 'first', Ultimate title. The story was written so it could be set in MU's future, or in the UU - with 'Bannermen', and vastly superior SHIELD tech. It was a nice idea, if they'd run with it....I just hope some other writer picks it up and has Noh-Varr break out. (Then again...maybe it's better to leave well enough alone).

GAHH!!!
God, that rumour bugged the hell out of me... :o
Joe Q blows some smoke at the fanboys at some panel discussion or other and the next thing you know, Marvel Boy's not set in the MU anymore.
I've read and re-read that comic loads and loads and loads of times. There are a tons of little (and some not-so-little) references to established MU continuity in that book. It's clearly set in the MU. If it's not, then its also clearly not set in the UU, 'cause the continuity just doesn't mesh.
I'm willing to wait 'till Morrison's not DC exclusive anymore. Then, with Jemas and his stick-in-the-works gone, he can get cracking on the sequel. Giving it to someone else would just be a bit risky for me.
