Is Marvel gonna come up with any new charactors as of late with new powers. Sentry is a nice start but that is 5 years ago. I mean why not intriduce a new race of being's or something. With House of M set to kill off alot of people figure now is a time to start with some new faces and charactors

Runaways springs to mind immediately.
And to a lesser extent the characters from Guardians.

I'm one of those people who say let Marvel develop the characters they already have that don't get enough attention, like Black Panther. But a couple of interesting characters a year would be fine, if they have NEW powers like Marvelboy said. None of this X-23 or
Arana crap.

Well put.
Marvel creates characters here and there, but it really depends on whether or not they stick. Look at New X Men, Marvel Next, and various other titles. There's actually quite a bit of fresh meat out there right now, even soon to be in MKSM.

I'd love to see Marvel go hog-wild and introduce a ton of new characters.
99% of them would fail, though.
The market doesn't want change. It just wants more Wolverine.

Runaways and Arana both of which are on my pull list.

...even soon to be in MKSM.What? What's this about? I haven't heard about this!Runaways and Arana both of which are on my pull list.Runaways are awesome. Arana, not so much. I like some of the ideas going on there with the Spider Society and stuff, but Fiona Avery isn't really catching my interest with the way she writes. I'm giving her through the end of the story arc to get me hooked. X-23 now... sure it's the same powers as Wolvie, but there are differences. I liker her.

Tristam Silver: 1st app. Identity Disc # 6
Marvel's Kaiser Zousei. If villains had a boogey man it would be this guy.
The Hood: 1st app. The Hood # 1
The Hood is to Spiderman as Prometheus is to Batman. With great power comes great opportunity...
The Slingers: 1st app. Slingers # 1
These guys may have broken up but Ricochet is making a come back in the pages of the Runaways.
The Runaways: 1st app Runaways # 1
Marvel best original idea since the Thunderbolts.
The New X-men Acadamy Students: 1st app. various...
although there powers aren't very original the drama is captivating enough for me to continue the series especially since the hellions are in it too.

I liked it too, but people I know who like Ghost In the Shell - Stand Alone Complex and all that hated it. Meh.

Marvel definitly needs to come up with some new original characters. I'm not a real big fan of the Marvel Next characters especially since they are only miniseries. I think in order for Marvel to gain new, younger readers they need new characters. Marvel has to think about their future and gaining younger readers to ensure the survival of the company and I think new characters would do it.

Im looking at marvel next, just nothing really impresses me...But im totally digging runaways...especially how strong this victor mancha might be. I just think marvel needs some new heros and villains. can't rely on the same ole same ole all the time.

It seems pretty interesting. And the execution of the concept and exposition were done well.

previews for daredevil specifically mentioning "A NEW VILLAIN" showing up, and "A NEW HERO" showing up in spider-man in the next few months. no idea about throw aways characters or not.
while a lot of the characters don't really have original powers, theres a bunch of interesting new mutants in the academy x book. and their main rivals, the new hellions, will be getting there own mini-series here shortly.

Yeah, there are new characters, the problem, as stated before, is people don't buy them. Sentinel was a new character. Damn good book too. Most of the main characters in Inhumans debuted for the first time in the book, and those that hadn't made their debuts not that much earlier in the Marvel Knights maxiseries. Both of them cancelled due to lack of readership. And don't forget the post-75 Thunderbolts. Everyone in the Crew except for Rhodey. Jessica Jones. Hawk Owl. Marville. Ok, forget those last two.

Jess doesn't really belong in that list. She's in he own series, which is doing well. And guesting regularly in 2 others. Alias was a finite series by design, like Sandman.

You're right, at that point, I was just listing a new character, wasn't really thinking in sales terms. Jess was the one new character in the past couple of years that really took, with a possible exception of Runaways.

True, and that took a relaunch. Did Jessica take off during Alias or when Pulse started?

What? What's this about? I haven't heard about this!
Some new hero may or may not be stealing Spidey's old gig* for the Daily Bugle in upcoming issues of MKSM.
*Stealing his gig as in taking photos/accquiring info about a "new hero" that's actually himself.

I don't know the exact numbers, but I believe the Pulse was to try an introduce the character to a broader, non-MAX audience. But for a mature audiences book, I'm pretty sure it did pretty well.
But I will say this: there was a lot more buzz for Alias than there was for Pulse, regardless of the sales numbers.

I liked Young Avengers, but I havent read runaways. You might like it, the first issue was all set up, I can't wait to see where the story goes.
