Hi,

Does anyone know which manga to start reading in order to pick up about where the anime series ended? Also, has there been a release date announced for the DVD of the 4th movie in Japan?

Does anyone know how much longer the manga will continue? Any word at all on if/when the anime series will start up again?

1: The anime ended at chapter 356 but didn't animate the last pages of that chapter.

That's toward the end of vol. 36.

2: I haven't heard of a release date for Inuyasha movie 4 yet.

3: In the 400th chapter, Takahashi said she was aiming to reach 500 chapters. Whether she does or not is unknown at this point. BTW, if Inuyasha runs to chapter 500, the manga will finish in Japan in 2007.

4: The anime production team did meet with Takahashi a few weeks ago to discuss various things. But nothing official.

Thank you! I've had a good sight with the manga translations bookmarked for a while, and now I'm going to start reading them.

I believe 408 chapters is all it would need to be her longest series -- Ranma 1/2 was 407 and Urusei Yatsura was 366.

It will easily go past 408. Hell, they'll still be in the Mouryoumaru arc in 408. If the series remains as strong as it is right now in the Mouryoumaru arc I think it could definetly reach 500.

The Manga hasn't ended yet. Takahashi said it would end around 500 chapters, and now we're at 403.

The Anime ended at episode 167 but is most likely on hiatus, as Inuyasha is currently popular enough to warrant a sequel series. Some people speculated on OVA follow ups, but if the Manga goes to 500 chapters than a full TV series is a much more logical choice. They already have enough to do around 20+ episodes (about a full season) from the stuff they haven't adapted in chapters 356-403.

Vol. 40 will be collected in late May. Or you could get Shounen Sunday or something.

I know they're airing "new" episodes on Cartoon Network/YTV - does anyone know how far behind those are...?

Current Episode set already finished airing once. They went up to Episode 101 or 102 (forget which). In June the next batch of episodes will air. My guess is that it will show the Shichinintai arc 103 to 124, and probably beyond, but I don't know exactly how far. CN has the rights to air all 167 episodes now, so whether or not they take another break between the remaining episodes is up to them.
