It's a 1967 Italian spandex movie that is apparently hilarious.
Spoken in Italian. Dubbed in English. Greek subtitles.
Tell me if you've seen this.

There's a character called Flashman who originally appeared in 'Tom Brown's Schooldays' and was later the star of a series of great books by George MacDonald Fraser.
One of these, 'Royal Flash' (a pastiche/remake/homage/ripoff of 'The Prisoner of Zenda') was made into a film in the late 60's/early 70's with Malcolm MacDowell as Harry Flashman and Oliver Reed as Otto Von Bismarck.
It was spectacularly good if incredibly obscure.
Probably not the same thing, though.

I gotta believe it's Harry Flashman we're talking about, not Funky Flashman, the pastiche of Stan Lee of late 60's DC comics and Mister Miracle fame...though I wonder if there's a connection?...
I have never seen the movie, though I'm a huge Flashman fan.
This may inspire me to go seek it out.
Surely can't be the movie the thread-starter was looking for. Flashman is a great movie!

Ah, Flashman! I'm a huge fan of the George MacDonald Fraser books. Currently working my way through re-reading the series YET again, only this time in chronological order ( just finished Flashman in the Great Game - eight down, four to go ). Never seen the film, though, but I can see Malcolm MacDowell would fit the role perfectly. If anyone knows whether it's available on dvd or not, I'd appreciate a nod in the right direction. I realise it's absolutely not the film Arrjay's on about, but, hey, if it's even as remotely good as any single one of the books, then it's got to be an absolute cracker.

Honestly. It's almost better than you can imagine.

And apparently, there is a DVD release in the works.

100% agreed.
Royal Flash was one of the great forgotton movies of the 1970's.
I recently saw it late at night on AMC and it really holds up well over the years.
