Does anyone know what's up with the Joe Quesada Daredevil mini that started I think over four months ago? It had some great art and a lot of promise but seemed to slide off the face of the Earth.

Joe Q has deemed that the money you spent on DD: Father #1 was enough to feed his family for a good while, so until he runs out of cash again, you aint gettin another issue. :p

Honestly, hes the EIC of the company, and hes never been terrific with deadlilnes anyway, so is it so surprising that he cant find the time to do it? Of course, a more competent professional might have forseen this, and made sure to complete the whole mini before soliciting it, but hey, we are talking about Joey here.

Yeah, file this under the Marvel imptint "Got You, Sucka". I confess having a collection of these as well. This, Spider-man Black Cat, Daredevil Target. Can't say I really liked the books either. They weren't bad, but they were just ok. Plus the art on Target by Glen Farby was a good match either.

Of course the funniest thing is, the Wha huh? comedy What if? one shot featuring one short 'What if Kevin Smith got his books in on time?' also has fallen off the map. It was the only What if? book of that 5th week event I really wanted anyway. The DD one I got stunk.

He's had the second and third issues finished and ready for solicitations for well over 3 months now.

over four months ago
It was about 6 or 7 months ago that it started.

Jesus that is a long time! Four months. Having books like Planetary and Ultimates be late I can tolerate, because I know the product, and I know I'll like it. However, when books like Father and Secret War are late, it kills the book before it has a chance to build momentum. I've lost all interest completely in both those products.

Sure he does... thats why hes not releasing them. We all know how much Joey likes to lose money dont we?

Last time I checked, that qualified as over four months. :D

I'm just going off of the info Joe Q released himself back in December.

Well, yeah, but I was just using a more specific time period.

I lost interest in Secret War right after I read the first issue. =D

Yeah, the only reason I am sticking with Secret War is because I already have the first three issues, so it would be a waste not to get the last two. Also, being the amazing future-seer that I am, I havent read a single page yet, I am waiting to have all issues and read them in one sitting.

Its funny when you think about it, in the end I will have waited over a year for five books which I will finish reading in under an hour. :)

It is really funny. And this is the exact reason I try to skip over comics from writers and/or artists that usually take a long time. Though Planetary is really my only exception. It is WELL worth the wait.

I've officially given up on the series.

I listed the first issues of this title and the Daredevil/Bullseye The Target on eBay today.

I was just about to start a thread on the same topic until it occured to me that I'm not the only one that'd be pissed off about this. It's 5 issues. It's kinda stupid to just put one out and disregard the fact that there are 4 more issues to complete. The guy's talented but bloody hell, I need closure.

It has been so long that I'm not sure if I even care if this series finishes or not.

I don't even remember what the stupid thing was about. When the second issue didn't ship on time I just stopped reserving the title.

...someone who wants to steal your money and put it in his child(ren)'s trust fund would crank out as many issues as possible, God knows (I asked him, so he really does know), that there are enough of you comic rubes who buy something and bitch about it later to keep a man (and his family) well fed... ;)

- Peace to all the sane ones out there ;)
