I was just browsing on Ebay and complete collections of the books from Hush(#608-619) go for quite a lot of money.

One collection already had $200 dollars worth of bidding for it.

Wow. Last I checked (months ago), they were in the $40 ballpark.

Everytime I check out the collections on Ebay, they're always around $60-200.

brother, I've got to put mine on the market! I love Batman, but that's some serious cash!

I'm holding onto mine, I just love the character too much to let these go.

And I've got all 12 issues pluss all 3 alternate covers for issue #19 and the 2nd print Riddler cover version signed by Jim Lee.

I say hold onto them, the collect will surely go up in value.

That's a great quote. "Batman, your adventures give me a thrill/ But your adventures don't pay my bills."

KidSeven, our next American Idol.

I looked again on ebay this afternoon, and didn't see anything anywhere near $200. Punisher, You sure there wasn't some massive extra included in what you saw?

I like Hush, too, so I'll probably hold on to my issues unless someone is going to offer me silly money. So consider my collection on sale for $200! Any takers?

The collection for $200 was a few months ago.

Sorry should have cleared that up.

Also, what did you search under?

I usually go to "Comics" then type in an issue number from that arc.

Ex: Batman #608

Well I have all twelve issues but they are part of a collected issue we get over here. There's a Dixon story and an old classic with each.

Any Idea how that might affect the price?

Jim Lee, a sure thing in the topsy turvy world of comic stock speculation, I'll tell yew that much gosh darn it.

I would imagine you would get some good bit of coin for those. :)

I'm hoping the same thing will happen with Lee's run on Superman right now....

If DC would have come out with a single hardcover collecting the entire arc instead of the two volumes, I would put mine up. On the other hand, if anyone's interested in Avengers #500-503 or the JLA/Avengers mini, pm me. ;)

My comic dealer just found out I missed out on most of the original issues of the Hush run. I was busy with my last year of college and missed out on a lot of the hype that was going on at the time. Fortunately, he pointed to the back room and told me he'd hook me up for "super-cheap." I've had some great deals with him in the past, so I'm a little excited. Being close enough to drink with your dealer never hurts.

I love Jim Lee, but I don't know why there's so much speculation with him. Retailer incentives (variants) aside, I can't think of any Jim Lee products that bring in very much.

I've seen a few Hush arcs close this week in the standard range of $30 - $50.

I don't search for the issue numbers, I type in the words BATMAN and HUSH. Then just scroll through the toys and other extras.

Issues from his current Superman run are going for $3-10 dollars right now.

I think the reason why the 2nd printing of Batman #619 is worth so much is because it's rare.

Hmm.. that makes me wonder. Lee on Batman and Superman is hot. A few eyars ago, as a big birthday gift, my parents got me a print or lithograph or something from the much missed Warner Brothers store. It was a signed and limited print of Batman and Superman by Jim Lee, pretty tall too. It was almost $300 then and I can only imagine how much it's worth now. Sadly, as our house is such a mess, it's still wrapped up and hasn't been on display.

Aha. Found one site wiht a copy, unframed going for $725. Wow.

Man, the Warner Brothers store had some nice stuff. Not just in the expensive Studio Store Collectors section either. Lord knows how much gift money and money form working in high school I spent there and the rest of the store.

You know what? I've never been to a Warner Bros. store.

And the more I think about it ... the more I realize ...

"That really sucks!" :(

Oh well, something to look forward to I guess. :o

When I first read this thread a few days ago. I just assumed that the Retailer Incentive one would make the price so high on all the run. I own Multiples of all of them except the Second Print of Superman and Batman cover(number escapes me at the moment), and I dont even own (or probably ever will) the Retailer Incentive.

A little story when Hush was starting to become huge. A local Comic store was pulling the Issues before they even put them out and charging 20-50 dollars per Issue. The week they came out.

That's BS what they did.

When Hush came out, the comic shop I used to frequent sold them for the regular prices.

I'm holding onto my HUSH run, it's what initially got me reading Batman. I can't believe I wasn't before. But thanks to Jim and Jeph happy to be reading it.

THAT'S DICK.

I got pissed at "my boss" when he used to mark up last month's issues a buck when the new ones came out, but that there in the quote above is just downright disgraceful. You'd save a bundle just by driving to the next town to pick up the book or ordering it online. Does that guy think its 1992 or something? Comics is not a speculator's market anymore, its a fan's market. Luckily, I've convinced "the man" that we can move more back issues by chopping off 25% instead of marking them up and watching them rot.

Well.. the bad news is.. I was using past tense. Will all the logic of the Catwoman movie, AOL Time Warner closed all their Warner Bros stores a few years ago.

The retailer incentive (only 400 printed) kind of gets on my nerves. I'm trying to acquire every comic Harley Quinn has ever appeared in, and it's just my luck that she graces the cover on that issue. I don't want to throw away my money on that issue, so I'm trying to re-define my goal.

I agree.

My regular shop sold them cover price as well. I should explain, I live in the country, and the shop that sold the high priced Issues is a shop about 37 miles away and 37 miles back. So its the closest shop from my house instead of my regular shop that is 120 miles away and 120 miles back. See they have no competition and people bought them like fireworks on the 4th of July. I think the next relative store is in Hazard or Lexington Ky.

THAT'S DICK.
I Does that guy think its 1992 or something? Comics is not a speculator's market anymore, its a fan's market.

I haven't seen such a atrocity since 1992 with the Death of Superman. I seen this dealer back then sell the first 20 issues go for 20, then the next for 50, then the last of the batch go for 100.

They get on my nerves as well. I get variants from time to time but never the likes as those. I have decided I don't want that Issue. I admire your goal, but I really feel like paying that much for a current age book isn't justified. I would rather much pay for a Golden/Silver Age book that I need or a piece of Orginial art(which is really addicting lately). I wish you luck in your quest.

Did everybody complete their Hush collection by picking up Wizard Zero, too? And was it reprinted in the HC as well?

I picked up that entire ark (ecept #611) just recently, 1 or 2 issues at a time for no less then 4 bucks to 8 bucks and $10 for the superman chocking bats one #612. but im still looking for that 611 issue tho. and when u say whole collection do u mean the multiple covers for #619 and the dual book 608-609; are must haves as a whole collection.

I'm sorry, if you have to pick up an issue of Wizard to finish a collection, than that collection is just not worth collecting.

Issue #0 of Loeb & Sale's 'Dark Victory' only available through Wizard was another worth collecting.
