Supposedly, Devil May Cry 3 comes out this Tuesday...

Anyone else looking forward to it? It should be one of the big game releases of the year, and from the available reviews, I tend to think it won't flop like the second installment did. Hopefully I'll be picking it up sometime in the next month, because it looks rather cool.

If you haven't already, check out the trailer on Capcom's site:Devil May Cry 3 (http://capcom.com/dmc3/main.html)

yah, i am going to pick it up. it is suppose to go back to the roots of the first game in gameplay...and is a prequel to the first game when dante is cockier and younger--

i loved the first game but the second was a HUGE disappointment

I am very excited to play this. I just finished RE4 (I had to make sure I did before DMC3 came out) and can't wait to get this one. It looks awesome.

RE4 is, without a doubt, the best Resident Evil game ever. In fact it is one of the most fun games I have ever played. If you have a GameCube, this is a must own.

DMC3 is going to be awesome. I read IGN's review and it made me even more excited to pick this up. Fight Night 2 comes out the same day, I think. So many great games to play.

And thanks for your comment on the avatar.

cool, think i might have to pick up RE4

i read another review saying that this game is hard, like ninja gaiden on xbox hard--and if anyone played that game you know what i am talking about--but that is a good thing, i love games that are challenging-

RE4 has NOTHING on Nijaj Gaiden toughness.

As long you know what your doing, it's cake.

I think xugtr34 was referring to DMC3 being hard. Apparently, the normal difficulty level on the American version is the hard difficulty level of the Japanese version. Every review I have read said it is extremely difficult.

Have you tried ordering it from Capcom's website? Also, ebgames.com might be a good place to check. I have it for the Dreamcast (which is the only reason I still have a Dreamcast).

Well this thread has drifted mightily...

I got DMC3 on thursday and well... I cant get past the second boss!?, I can't get past the second boss!, I CANT GET PAST THE SECOND BOSS!!!!

I've only played like 20 minutes of the game and I've played it over and over and over again!
Call it HARD ACTION and call it that for a reason, this game can and will kick your ass.

If no one else has played it yet, I'd be glad to answer basic questions if I can.

After playing it, do you start acting arrogant and run around with a fake sword pretending to slay demons?

I have defeated Cerberus the icy 3-headed dog, and as a reward I got some blue nunchucks(sp?)
I made my way into the castle solved some puzzles killed some cannon fodder and promptly got killed by the third boss a giant flying worm thing but to be fair I made a much more significant dent in his health than I did on my first crack at the previous two bosses and I went in with low health to begin with.

You can actually buy items to restore your health but each time you buy an item the price increases so you don't want to depend on it or common items like Vital Stars will get expensive fast.

I've been playing this for a few days and am on mission 6. A good tip, if you don't mind being repetitive, is going back and replaying the missions you've beaten and acquiring more orbs. This will allow you to buy more skills and upgrades.

A tip for the icy cerberus is to stand back and shoot the ice off of his three heads and then one of his legs. After he does some distance attacks, get close and chop at his leg. Eventually he will fall onto his belly. Then go to town chopping at his heads. If you stay away and repeat this process, you should be able to beat him without taking too much damage. They key is to be patient and not try to kill him right away.

The catepillar boss is actually the easiest I have encountered so far. Make sure you stay above him. Get up on the walkways. He will fly below you and travel into the circular openings in the walls. Stand on the ledge by the big double doors you came through. He will pass through the opening below you and then turn around and come back out. Jump onto him and slash away. The idea here is to knock his armor off. You will notice each segement of his body is blue. Once you shoot or chop at a piece, it will turn a purple color. Repeat this process and you have an easy victory. I can beat him consistently without taking any damage.

Yes, those are the strategies I used on those bosses Capt. Trips... but not because you told me too!
The thing with the bosses in this game to me is- I can usually figure out what the 'trick' is to beating them I just have trouble not dying in the process.
I'm up to misson 9 or so now, and theres a boss I just know is gonna give me trouble... Nevan, she seems alot less vulnerable to gun attacks that most of the other bosses and she has one really powerful close range attack (If you see black 'energy'... run!)

some other stuff- when your buying vital stars the price seems to stop going up at 5000 give or take a zero so if you need one early but are woried about the price hikes going on forever just buy one its better to have to pay more than to need on and not have one.

be on the look out while exploring the enviroments, theres at least 2 guns(artimis and spiral) so far that can be unlocked if you make sure to look everywhere and compleate a challenge you dont necisarily have to, Spiral the rifle is especially easy to pass up if your not looking.

Shoot and slice her bats off,and once they're off,you can start damaging her. When you see the floor crackle with electricity after she gets about half dead, jump in the air and shoot at her to dodge the attack. When she gets down to very little life left, she'll appear in the middle of the room and move towards you at an alright speed.Don't let her touch you or she'll drain your energy and heal herself.

That damn game is gonna give me a heartattack. I just got to the mission 11 and my brain can't take anymore. This is why it takes me so long to beat DMC. I always get tired and take like a month break from the game.

Well the character shave multipe spellnig styles.

ZHuge Liang could also be Kong Ming for example.

Pang De was the guy, who carried his coffin to battle who dueled and WOUNDED Guan Yu. Making him retreat.

That just defies bad assness.
