View Full Version : Are the "Battle of the Planets" comics any good?

Simple question, folks. I loved the series years ago, have the first 2 DVDs, flicked thru some of "Princess" and thought it looked good-and then I ordered the first 2 volumes of the comic books! So I hope its OK! :-)

I enjoy them. Doesnt mean their good just that I like them.

I was a regular viewer of BOTP when it first hit American TV in the 70's (and "Starblazers" after that). The comics are great and there's a new series featured in Previews this month. Overall, I enjoy BOTP because of the great nostalgia it brings, and the comics no only bring that to the table, but also add a certain modern flavor that actually works well. I would also suggest the Thundercats/BOTP crossover too, just for a grin. Best Image stuff I have found!

I love BOTP. I canīt remember if I watched the cartoon as a kid (my mom says I did :rolleyes: ), but I dig the living hell out of the comics.

Itīs a shame that it doesnīt seem to sell well enough to be released in full color.

The first BOTP series was in color and is definitely the best of the different story arcs. The continuation of that arc is being offered in this month's previews so don't miss out! The BOTP crossovers were all in color as well (BOTP/Witchblade and BOTP/Thundercats) so you might like those...and despite the off-the-wall pairings, the stories were actually pretty damn good (the Thundercats one was a scream!). :)

Thanks for recommending those titles, but...I have every book thatīs been realeased by Image so far. I also have the crossovers.

My problemīs that they arenīt in color anymore. Especially for a comic book thatīs based on a cartoon (what would it be without color? :rolleyes: ) itīs a crying shame. :(

Does anybody have sales numbers?
