I have heard a few things here and there probably nothing concrete but I was wondering if there were any plans for a game like this to come out... If there is already a thread on this I apologize I just need to know!!!!

No, there aren't unfortanetly, but theres plans for a Marvel vs EA game. What are EAs characters you as? EA is exclusively making them for this game with the help of Kevin Smith. Quite frankly i think this game is gonna be bad, who gives a shit about these EA characters and the game is gonna be made by EA, not capcom, so there goes the gameplay too.

That would be one of the highest grossing video games in existance... I WISH, man I would weep tears of joy the day the Green Lantern Darkseid and Batman take on my friends team of Thanos, Spider-Man, and Iceman.

Well if you think about how much of a power down they would have to give to him and Thanos and Superman and.......
Yeah all the higher tier DC charaters would end up looking like jobbers, but then to balance that out i wold own Thanos with Robin

I'd love to see it, but I doubt any company could acquire the rights to use both companies characters. How many different companies have rights to various Marvel characters now?
Anyway, ignoring all of that, it would be an awesome game - if it was done by the right company. I always loved the way Capcom interpreted the powers of the Marvel characters and the attacks they came up with. Plus, the style and animations that Capcom used were great as well. And I always preferred the Capcom fighting style.

I would want them to get Capcom to make the game... less powering down of charaters as well.... I would also hope that the GL would have a secret costume for each seperate GL there has been

The company could get all the licenses for that game would be set for a long time. They may be able to get the licenses for the 2D animation easier then they could get 3D licenses. Getting WB to sign off on it will be the hardest thing I think. They seem to have a view that their comics branch can't make money outside of movies and television. What's the last good DC based video game one can think of? Arcade or console?

And that was what, in 1990? That's ancient compared to most fighting games.
Tekken alone went through 5 iterations.
SF went through about a dozen.
Using that game just shows how little WB thinks of DC's potential in that field.

Yeah well WB needs to take the stick out of their asses and relize that that would be the highest grossing fighting game of all time.

Again that's a movie tie in. They're good about making those. I think Batman had one for Batman and Robin as well as Batman Returns. They also had that godawful one for Superman based off of the cartoon a while back. And let's not forget Catwoman had one.
Unless there is a way to show WB that money can be made off of a fighting game that also stars Marvel characters I don't see them doing it. No matter how successful MvC was. I'm doubtful that they'll do one with just their own characters.

from what i heard superman is going to be on the EA side. and if they dont they can always throw in a bunch of football players:D
