Well I just got the issue today (2 weeks late thanx Marvel) and I went through the main thread and I heard a lot of complaints about plot holes. I had a response in the thread but I thought that this is a great subject for a new thread. And being 2,000 people allready viewed it that this little point may be lost.

There has been a lot of sub plot dealing with mistakes and tricks in the ultimate universe. Thor sees characters that never were there, Captain America gets jumped by a bunch of thugs, Information about banner is leaked to the press that leads to his death. Now with the most current issue we have three huge plot points

point 1. Banner is put on a ship and bombed from space, a meathod that didn’t kill him
point 2. Banner is drugged but not drugged enough
point 3. Banner is now free to walk around the earth but separated from the team

Some of you believe that these are plot holes I have a theory.

All of these deal with mischief and tricks in one form or the other, they all seem to be building to something. My idea is that Loki is behind all of these tricks, so what do you guys think?

Does anyone think these are plot-holes? I think Millar's flagged up pretty obviously that he planned it.

Anyway, I think it seems to be being made to look fairly obvious that Hank Pym was behind Banner's survival, but having said that, he did seem a little shocked when Bruce called him, so maybe there is someone else involved....

Banner wasn't bombed from space. The bomb was on the ship right next to him. Pym could have been surprised by the fact that Banner would call him not by the fact that he is alive.

My thinking is that Pym was surprised that Banner survived. I know I would be if my friend survived something like that. It is a little odd that there were no 'live' cameras, but let's face it, the broadcast would end as soon as the megaton bomb went off -- there is no technology I am aware of that could withstand that kind of blast. Camera (and then broadcast) would end at the crucial moment. So to me, plot 'hole' does not exist. Hulk was nuked which was expected to kill him. The fact that it didn't is not totally stunning, nor is his 'reach out' to Pym. Now Banner is on the run, which totally fits continuity (despite the 'alternate' Ultimate Universe). When he surfaces again, you can bet the Ultimates will be called on to shut him down. ;)
