Now that's a good issue, a strong followup to last month's "revelation". The action is rendered nicely by Pia Guerra, who is becoming one of my favourite artists in comics today. I liked how this arc tied up nicely but left me wanting more. I'm looking forward to "Girl on Girl" and the guest artist.

HOLY CRAP!

Yorick: "Wait, Shut Up for a Second. ZIGGY here stopped beeping. The...the trail just went Dead."

*Spoilers*??

I dont know if anybody else noticed the significance of Dr. M?? so the person toyota works for is Dr. Manns Mother??
I had noticed the M before but thought it couldnt be her father since all men are dead, it never occured to me that it could me her mother.
Then again M could stand for just about anything.
Thoughts?

If you search for previous Y threads you'll see that I've been saying that Dr. M would turn out to be either Alison's mother or father. Personally I think her father would be a cool twist, though it's more likely to be her mother. If it is her father who has somehow survived in some sort of clean room then it would make sense that he's after Ampersand, who can make him immune to the plague.

Absolutely! The Untouchables quote was excellent, also.

"I swear, you bigoted American men are all the same. And by that, I mean deceased."

Great line; Toyota's pretty clever for a monkey-stealing ninja.

A random thought: During the first 31 issues of Y: The Last Man, has BKV ever mentioned the Beatles song title "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey"?

And if not, wouldn't it make a great title for a future Y: The Last Man storyline?

Not that I can remember, although I must admit that even *I* don't trust the 'ole grey matter sometimes.

Yorick did have some stuff to hide in Safeword :P And who knows if Ampersand has some secrets (pertaining to his past owners).

Also, the title would be far too long for a trade spine. One Small Step apparently caused them to scrunch everybody's name together.

Funny connection, though.

After looking at the last pages over, I have a funny feeling that Dr. Mann (our Dr. Mann, that is) is connected to this in some way. When Amp was stolen, in #30 Dr. Mann was unharmed, and seemed a little too calm for what had just occured. Also, in #31, when Yorick and Hero are recovering from assisting 355, Dr. Mann is talking about how she let the key to humanity's existence go, and then there's a panel where she says "I'd say it's my turn to play the villian."

Hmm....

Is the brilliant Mr. Vaughn rubbing our noses in some foreshadowing here? Dropping a subtle hint? Time will tell, I suppose. But I think Dr. Mann knows something more than she's telling.

Good points. We have already seen that Dr. Mann is secretive and deceitful.
